CML, Gleevac and weight gain?

I have been on Gleevac for a year now and am gaining weight rather fast. Was wondering if anyone else is having this same problem. And if so, what did you do to help change. Thanks

    I was diagnosed with CML in Nov 2005 and was on Gleevec for about 10 months, then Sprycel and now I have been on Tasigna for almost 3 years. I have put on about 25 lbs since I was diagnosed. I can't help you much with how to get the weight off other than if you can exercise even walking will help. I have talked with other people on Gleevec who also have complained about weight gain. You might want to ask your oncologist about it and he should be able to refer you to a dietitian that might be able to give you some help.

    Wait increase in Imatinib 400
    Yes i am also increased -from 58 to 71- to my own previous wait ie 71,my Hematologist tol me that it's ok . also told me that it's a kind of side effect and recovery is going on ie remission
