Hello all,

I don't usually post much but I wanted to share this awesome news.

Our beloved and dear friend Kitten, passed from us In November of last year, with EC, she was only 24. Kitten aka Cathy, was always in good spirit no matter how bad she felt, she always lifted our spirits when we were down, even though she could hardly move. Cathy lost her battle to EC on November 30, 2009, and one of her favorite sayings to us when signing off was this:

LIFE ISN'T ABOUT WAITING FOR A STORM TO PASS, ITS ABOUT LEARNING HOW TO DANCE IN THE RAIN

Cathy was such a great mentor for me, that I carried this saying on, it is now at the bottom of all my e-mails at work.

With that being said my birthday is coming up next week, and for my birthday my sister bought me a photo frame with that saying, I started crying it was awesome.

So with that said Thank you Kitten for all your help, please continue to look over all the EC board conversations, and we will never forget your spirit, your admiration, your love and most of all such great advice.

We all miss and love you

MOE/lori

    Lori,
    I think I may have

    Lori,
I think I may have mentioned this already, but our oncologist's offices were just redecorated....and one day when Charlie and I sat down in the waiting room, I looked up and there was a picture on the wall across from where we were sitting with the same saying. I started to cry and then told Charlie about Kitten. Since then we both use it as part of our signature on our personal emails. We just love it...would love to know where she found the frame. Maybe I can find it on-line. Enjoy it and have a wonderful birthday.

    I will always remember "Kitten"
Lori---I can't believe it has already been that long since Cathy/Kitten's passing---I did not know her as well as you but she made a great impact on me--before she passed---it was so shocking to me that she passed-her attitude was so positive! I did not realize how sick she was----until later. Her passing really affected me--and so have the ones that have occurred since. Some how---in her name and all the others here---I hope to somehow make a difference. If it is only my prayers ---so be it---but I pray it will be much more than that! We (a bunch on this site helped!) already got April 2010 declared EC Awareness month in their states. It is a beginning---with the goal of increased awareness and funding for EC PREVENTION, EARLY diagnosis & effective treatment.

Wouldn't it be great if we can prevent families from going through what we all are going thru?
    thanks for posting Lori---

    don't blame you for crying!!
Thanks Lori for telling your story. It is hard to think that Kitten/Cathy has been gone this long. I came on this site in August and could not believe how strong Cathy was and how she never gave up. It is a beautiful saying and in dark times, it gets you thru. Kitten did so much to encourage all of us. My husband could not believe she was writing from the hospital under the direst of circumstances. I don't think anyone who was touched by her courage and kindness will ever forget her, so she lives on for all of us. take care,

I just joined in June, but
I just joined in June, but have found a site I wish I had found a couple of years ago. I read so much love and encouragement out of you all. A couple of days ago I was looking back on old post and found Kitten's name and because of her age started reading her blogs. I agree she was a remarkable young woman. I was wondering what happened to her and felt blessed to be able to read all your comments. Thanks to you all! Wouldn't life be a waste if we weren't willing to learn to dance in the rain?

I never know Kitten, but found that quote on here and use it also. This site is a wonderful place to know. I don't know what I would do without it.
