Don't panic
My liver enzymes are high, too (AST 50, ALT 102). My dr pulled me off my Lipitor. Her feeling is that these numbers aren't a real problem until they are at least triple the high end of normal (~120 for AST). At the moment, it just means to watch. My onc has not been alarmed by my counts. My PCP likes to track them because I've been on Lipitor, which also affects liver enzymes.
Don't panic - see what your dr says. From what I understand, you are high, but nothing alarming. Probably wait/see to your next counts.0 -
check what else can affect those numbers
Remember that the general public doesn't get their enzyme levels checked regularly like we all do. It's likely that "regular" people's enzymes go up and down to based on meds, foods, and drink, but they just aren't aware of it. Of course we're so aware of the threat of high numbers relating to cancer, BUT I'm pretty sure there are several different things that can also make the numbers go up- foods and drink that we consume, as well as certain other medications you may be taking- including Tylenol. Check out everything and don't scare yourself into thinking the worst.
Best wishes,
