Hi there!rathgirl said:hey
i am 19 also and i am also in remission. in dec. 09 i was diagnosed with leukemia. i have been in remission for about 2 months now.
Good to meet you! It's a little tough finding survivors that are close in age to me, and I'm so glad to find you. Were you in the midst of school and whatnot when you were diagnosed?0 -

im glad you are glad to find me. oh yes i was just 3 weeks away from finishing my first semester of college. my teachers were nice enough to let me finish while i was in the hospital and one of them even gave me till the end of the spring semester to finish. how about you?0 -

hey! i also had hodgkin's from Jan 08 - Feb 09, i'm 20years old...nice to meet you...like you said, it's so rare to find other's our age
i agree with both of you. it is so nice to talk to people our age that are dealing with the same things like chemo and such. sometimes it is also nice to talk to people who are older too.0 -

I was diagnosed right before the end of Spring semester...most of my teachers were cool, but one of them flunked me and wouldn't let me make up anything. :-(0 -

I've noticed that it's interesting how many people dealt with it at any age. I know a lot of older people who didn't handle their diagnosis well. I actually am surprised I cooperated and stayed strong like I did. Although I had a reputation for swearing at the nurses who could never find a vein...lol.0 -
