I was diagnosed stage 4 at the age of 41years old. I too just moved into my new house. I have 3 kids. My younger two were five and three at the time of my diagnosis. I was diagnosed Sept. '08. I am currently being treated for a recurrence but battling hard. The thought of leaving my kids motherless is very scary.
Good luck to your daughter and your family!
I talked to Angelas about this cancer site and she said that she is not ready to join yet. She is very upset at any thought of cancer. She just got the bad news Thursday. She will later though and I know you two will have alot in common. She insisted that Monte take the kids for fireworks. She really wanted to go but was too weak. She called me last night just crying and very upset and scared. Please pray for her. Thanks, Linda0 -

Give her time. It is alot to absorb and accept. I was hospitalized at the time of my diagnosis. I had a bowel obstruction. I was in the hospital almost 3wks. I look back now and realize I must have been in shock.
I did not join this group right away either. I did not look online at all. I just went with the information my doctor gave me. I joined this group a year after diagnosis. A lot of the information on the internet...and here...can be overwhelming.
Like I said in my previous post...it took a long time before I could talk about my diagnosis without crying. Give your daughter plenty of time and follow her lead. She is lucky to have a Mom like you by her side. My parents live a 2hr car drive away. What state do you live in? Is she having her surgery at a major cancer center?0 -

Angela lives and California and I live in Texas. I plan on flying back and forth, because I have to work too. Last night she called me crying saying she can't handle this that this was just too much to bear. We prayed and after about 30 minutes she got better. We prayed that she would have peace along with everything else you pray for in a situation like this. This morning I talked to her and she said she really sleep well. She said that she dreamed that she was at a spa with a friend and they where spreading thick purple soap all over her body and that it felt so good. I feel like that was a message from God and he was comforting her. I called 44 churches today to pray for her. Her Mother-in-law has late state ovarian cancer and is not doing very well. They have really been having it hard.0 -

I was diagnosed with stage 3c on July 27, 2009 (age 43). I finished my treatments in December and have been cancer free since then. Please tell your daughter she will get through this... there will be days that will be difficult, but with the support and prayers from family and friends she will do it. My son was 6 years old when I was diagnosed and I was so afraid of how it would affect him... I have to say he has done amazingly well through it all.
Prayers to you and your family.
Thank-you fr your encouragement. Angela has her surgery July 8. This is her 38th. birthday. I'm asking everyone I can to prayer for her. So far I have contacted over fifty churches or more and everyone I know to pray. I will be contacting churches all day today. My goal is to get churches in every state and every contenent. I will keep all of you in my prayers. What is your name? Linda0 -

Hopefully we will get to meet sometime. Got you on my prayer list Carlene. Tell me about yourself. Also, how do I add buddies to my buddie list. I'm new. Linda0 -
Stage 3C
Angela's Mom,
I am 54 years old with 4 grown children, 4 grandchildren and one on the way, been married 35 years+, just went to the beach for a week with all our kids and grandkids and then on motorcycle trip with 3 other couples.
Diagnosed January 28, 2008. Had 7 months treatment was NED, then recurred June 2009, started treatment July 2009-April 2010.
I am BRACA 2 positive and will be starting a clinical trial in less then 2 weeks.
But I am alive and still living! Took a 3 mile walk this morning and it felt so good! I Praise the Lord every day for His many, many blessings in my life.☺
Living for Eternity,
Libby0
