(((Hugs))) (((Hugs))) (((Hugs))) and prayers to my kindred spirit sister. You have really been on my mind. So much to deal with, but you can and will. I'm praying for you Shelby and I wish you the best for all the bad you have endured. You are a true gift my dear lady. Your spirit soars in spite of all the negatives. You are definitley a warrior and a survivor. Sending lots of hugs, love and prayers.

Thanks to all of you my
Thanks to all of you my wonderful sisters. You always come thru for me and encourage me to keep going. I have had neupogen shots for the white blood cells and that helped a lot. Now my red blood cells are going down and its taking a lot for me to keep going. Thanks for all the suggestions. I bought myself some black strap molasses to get more iron but that stuff is starting to gag me when I try to take it but I hope to keep pushing it down. Thanks Chen for suggesting beets. Now thats something I can eat and I like beets so that should not be a problem. Hopefully I can get enough iron into me that I won't have to have a transfusion but some of you have had to do that so I know I will too if I have to. I'm hoping to have my 8th chemo this Wed. and then only 4 more to go. I know we all feel the same way when we're thru chemo but this is one time I just want to get there and get it done and over with. It seems like its been so long but some of you have had longer times. I think its because I have it every week that it keeps me down and I don't have time to recuperate. Anyway, thanks for listening and supporting me thru this. I don't know if I could finish without all your love and encouragement. Thank you again, my precious sweet angels.

You can finish Sunrae as we are all going to help you in anyway that we can! You know that!

I hope you can get some iron in you. Can you just take iron pills? A prescription that would help you?

I was surprised that I was
I was surprised that I was able to have my 8th chemo today. My blood work showed that my white blood count had actually went up and my red blood count was about the same, so I was cleared for chemo. I still need to get iron into my system so I may also start iron pills, but I was warned that sometimes that causes constipation so I'm a little leery of that. The nurse said she thought that the accummulating effect of the chemo threatments is beginning to wear me down and exhaust me, along with some sinus drainage problems that have been ongoing. I'm going to my lung specialist tomorrow, perhaps he can put me on some meds to help the sinus problems. I'm so tickled that I'm getting so close to finishing my 12 weeks of chemo, only 4 left. Hopefully, I'll get a break before I have to start my 30 rad treatments. Thanks again for all your help and support.

Only 4 left? That is great
Only 4 left? That is great Sunrae! Soon you will joining the Chemo Grad group! Won't that be great?

If the iron pills constipate you, can you use a stool softener? I know they help.

I am sure the chemo and everything is wearing you down, but, the finish line is in sight!

We are always here to support and help each other!

SUNRAE .. You are a Chemo QUEEN...
Your journey has been filled with heartache, fatigue and side efforts. I too experienced so much during my 18 weeks of straight chemo therapy.

I took iron which added to my already existing consipation .. I tried EVERYTHING ..including 2 precribed medications .. Nothing worked for 8 days-- then I tried eating 2 to 3 prunes a day along with sipping herbal tea. It took a few days to work .. but it worked - like a charm - . Believe me .. I could not sit, lay down - I was in misery .. something so natural .. PRUNES . :D

You are beaten from the chemo .. there is a finish line .. you can make it, you will make it ..

Speak to your Onc and ask for a few weeks off before you start RAD's. Insist on it, you need time to heal - both physcially and mentally.

Strength and Courage to you, Sunrae :D

    spinach has iron too, and
spinach has iron too, and perhaps you can add the molasses to a recipe, muffins or smoothie? I know people prefer more food like things, but because of my rectal surgery, I Cant get constipated. so I take colace twice a day, and miralax every night. doc says it is not habit forming. I have had a LOT of GI symptoms and actually 2 docs have told me it is gentle. and it is. no cramps. but in the morning when I go, I have to go thats the only thing, and the stool is normal. It may get you through until you are done. with your heart issues you dont want to be straining and you certainly dont want to end up withthe problems I had/have, You will get through you are a star!!!
