    I love reading what everyone
I love reading what everyone will be doing around the country. My husband and I will be going to a neighbor's for a low country boil and then we'll walk down to the beach with our beach chairs for the fireworks. Nothing like celebrating with friends and family. I hope you all have a safe and fun 4th of July!!

    Staying Home
We will be home trying to survive the dog's trauma of fireworks. Hypervent's, moves into the shower, where I close the door. He seems to think the shower is his safe place. Also still pondering what the 4th really stands for and hope we as American's can sustain what our founding father's had in mind. Enjoy, stay safe.

    Just out of curosity, what
Just out of curosity, what breed of dog do you have? We have a Jack Russell Terrier and he, too, has "dog's trauma of fireworks". He likes to go into the laundry room. Unfortunately, for us, some of the neighbor's have already started with their fireworks last night. Ugh!! I hate to be a party pooper but we pray for rain on the 4th!! LOL

Yep, that's what I'm doing. My hysterectomy is in about 5 hours. Then I can get on with fighting these beasts! Hopeful that hysterctomy will be all that's needed for the endometrial cancer. I will start chemotherapy for the breast cancer in a few weeks. Onward.

Hope your surgery went well. I love your positive attitude. Dont let go of it. Sometimes, our positive attitude and faith is what gets us thru the day.

THIS year we are spending the weekend on our
boat at the club we belong too. Nothing fancy, good old fashioned working people and we have a ball.

LAST year, we didn't do anything because I was having my first surgical biopsy on July 6 and was too upset to even think of going anywhere. We only used our boat once last year and that was the weekend I found the lump.

Different story this year, hopefully it's all behind me and life goes on. All of you newbies should be planning on (hopefully) having your lives back (pretty much) this time next year...it does end, it is doable and hair does grow back...curly (maybe).

Everyday I think about what I was doing a year ago today and sometimes feel a little emotional... Sometimes feel emotional right out of the blue. I'm anxious to see how I will be feeling this time NEXT year!

I hope everyone has a fun, restful, peaceful holiday, everyone sounds like they have it covered.

Oh, my kitties hate fireworks too. I close all windows and turn on the air and tv's to help buffer the noise...

Hugs and Happy 4th, Judy :-)

    small town usa
booked a hotel for weekend getaway, chose a small town that is having old fashioned 4th celebrations in their town square......antique car show, vendors, crafts booths, live music with local bands, followed by firework display. This is my week #3 before facing chemo #5 after weekend...so I am feeling pretty good now and can do this. And...I think my husband deserves to get away for the weekend.

    That sounds terrific
That sounds terrific cavediver! My husband and I are going to something just like that on the 4th. The theme this year is for an old fashioned/old time celebration and it sounds like so much fun. People will be dressed up in old costumes, old cars, even an old time carnival with cool side acts. The town is really going all out!

Glad you are feeling well so that you can enjoy your celebration!

I am so excited to be in a July 4 Fun Run! Last year at this time, I knew I would be getting bad news, but didn't know what it was yet. I went ahead & did the race. When the dx came, I set my mind to be able to do the race again this year & I can! The thought kept me going on the bad days of treatment, but I feel so lucky! Of course, I wanted to be around to see grandchildren graduate, marry, etc., but they are going to do those things whether I am around or not. But doing the race was completely up to me.

Hope everyone has a great 4th!

I am going to Wisconsin camping with family.

    Big surprise there, Kathy! =)
Please say hello to the Land of Cheese for me. And if you and your fellow grownups wouldn't mind, please also hoist a few brews in my honor. Giving up drinking was the smartest decision I ever made, but I still feel like I let my native state down...

Well, I am not scheduled to
Well, I am not scheduled to work on Saturday or Sunday. However we have had a girl out all week with vertigo. Five 12 hour days in a row are beginning to take their toll. If I am not working will be quiet at home with my wonderful husband and our 4 month old grandaughter. Surgery is scheduled for the 13th. So I am going to hold her, let her sleep ony chest, etc. I hope everyone enjoys the holiday and says a small prayer for our troops.

    2 dogs
We have 2 wire hair fox terrors. Jack, our male, gets in panick mode at the first bang. He is worse than a kid, climbs all over us, whines, so the shower works great for him. Our female, Annie, just runs around baking at every noise. The cat, Duncan, a Scotish Fold, just sleep though it all.

We had a female Visula who went through the 4th trauma also and spent her time in the basement closet in her sleeping bag.

I hate to be a party pooper too and wish the fire work displays were held only in an organized place far away from home. At least here most everyone goes to the beach, makes a mess, and leaves, including the mess. It's the drunks who can't give it up after midnight that really gets to be too much.

    Painting the livingroom.
I want to do this before surgery so i dont have to look at these dreery walls while im down and it will make me feel much better with a new look to the living room since i got new furniture and all. We have been painting and remodeling room by room...its been a slow process but worth it.

I'm not holding anything. I'm standing behind a rock (I think) that I thought looked like a woman's torso. I thought it would be amusing. Or it could be a heart? Or someone said it looked like one end of a dog bone.

I like your old pic better

Looks like most of us are doing the same! We are having some friends and family out after the parade to cook out, play some games and just have a good time.

Later, we will go into the fireworks.

Have a safe 4th of July!

Went to a great wedding yesterday. Gosh, how I wish my knees were 20 years younger! I would have danced all night. Great music - I Twisted, Boogied, Disco'd, Cha-Cha'd and swayed with my hubby.

Also, in the hacking stage of a head/chest cold. Yuck - in 90+ weather. I have tomorrow off, and need to do a million things. My husbands daughter, granddaughter and great grandson (whom we have never met) are coming up from Texas Thursday for a family wedding next Saturday. Busy.

I am starting to regain (real) strength and stamina. Finally. Notwithstanding headcolds, I hope it lasts.

so I am taking my temp -- several times a day, and resting. July3rd was our daughters Birthday . .. could not go out to dinner - slight temp. So we had several of her friends over .. BBQ .. I am a little tired for all the hoopla. Still fatigued, Herceptin chemo on Wednesday .. chemo still knocks me out for a few days.

Boring .. I hope my exchange surgery is a go for 7.21.10 .. recovery .. end of herceptin and 1 year of chemo 9.6.10 .. Then watch out world .. I am ready to start living, traveling and figuring out what the next chapter of life has to offer.!
