Hopefully, a tree won't grow out of your stoma.....
I got nervous when I accidentally swallowed some pumpkin seeds with shells but no blockage occurred....it added some texture tho.....steve

    Ostomy blockages -

The problem isn't with ostomies, the problem is the adhesions
that form after the invasive surgery. An adhesion can narrow
an intestinal passageway, and make some un-chewed foods
    jamb up in that location.

It's common enough, that when you get an ileostomy (or a colostomy),
they tell you to make sure you chew each bite of food well (like
    mom always said to do).

I had a helluva blockage after eating two "corn on the cob", one after
the other, and not chewing it well. I felt like I swallowed the stupid
ears of corn whole. It took almost three days to finally clear, and
I was about to go to the ER....

So yes, a pit can do it; anything that doesn't digest (like corn),
can do it, if it's not ground up small enough by chewing.

On the up-side, it's not something that happens daily; after the first
time, we seem to learn how to chew again.

    Happy pit-passing!

    (hey... have a pity party!)
