Was wondering if anyone has had a mamogram while they still have their port.

    Port
I had my first mammogram while i still had a port cath in. It didn't seem to make much of a difference, but my port had always bothered me, and even though it's gone, it still itches like crazy at the site. I don't know if it makes much difference, but i had plenty of boob for them to work with, so the port didn't get in the way at all.

    Hope this helps!

    Good luck with the scan!

    Funny you should mention that
I had to have a mammo and was terrified that the pulling would affect it. Have to say it wasn't any worse than normal, but I made sure they were aware it was there. Pat

    I did
It sort of got in the way a bit from when they do the downward angle on the port side. The lady doing my mamogram had never done on with a person with a power port before, we managed ok though

    Yes
I had my port in last summer when I had the mammogram. Just tell the tech. Side benefit was that they read the mammogram right away so no waiting (it was clear). I was very appreciative.

    all the best, Leslie
