Sports are a good way to take your mind off it all

I think it's important to find ways to make sure that dealing with this disease doesn't take up our every living minute. Thank God for the World Cup and Wimbledon! My dad's been in the hospital all week getting a j-tube placement and we have been watching soccer as much as possible. My dad is very interested in the games and that's great! My mom is a tennis fan so watching Wimbledon has been great for her! I just couldn't take the day shift today so she took the night shift and the day shift today. Feel kind of bad, but the day shift is mentally tiring writing down every update, question, etc. Ugh!!! I know I'm whining, but I think we can do that every once in a while right?

heads up
Hi, I just signed up today. I am a suvivor (18 mths). Your Dad is so lucky to have you an your mom as caregivers. My husband and daughter were with me during my chemo and surgery. I could be very demanding. I didn't realize it at the time, but I did put on a lot of pressure. Sometimes they would just have to walk away, and there was nothing wrong with that. It was best for me as well as for them. Remember to take time for yourself, even if it's just a moment. You need it to stay strong. My husband refers to my treatment as our journey. And it was -Physically for me and emotional and spiritual for me, for him, and the rest of the family.
