Hi ladies. Just wanted to let you know that my dear mom went home to be with Jesus Sunday night. I was there in the E.R. holding her hand 15 months ago when we found out about her stage 4 ovca- and I was there with her holding her hand Sunday night when her last breath left her body. She fought hard even to her last breath. She just loved us all so much, she wasn't ready to leave us. We buried her today, and she is in no more pain, doesn't have to deal with the colostomy bag that she hated so much, and all the effects of the major stroke she suffered in march are all gone.

Thank you all for the support you have offered me and my mom this last 15 months. I always shared your stories and advice with my mom and she really enjoyed all of you. My sister and I are entering the 4 mile ovca run in indy in september, and we are gonna run our a**es off for our mama!!

Stay strong and keep fighting ladies! I know there is a cure around the corner! Thank you again and God Bless you all!!

Becky

    Hi Becky
Hi Becky. I am so sorry for your loss but glad that your mama is no longer in pain, no longer on the cancer merry go-round. I lost my mother one year ago tomorrow to uterine cancer, stage IV. I am having a hard time this week, it seems so surreal, she can't have been gone a year. I came to these boards very angry and depressed, jaded and cynical. Some of my first posts were very negative . I only received kindness in return.
I've met some wonderful, brave caring women. I have found comfort on here, support. I feel like I've come to know some of these wonderful gals, patients and caregivers. It seems cancer isn't done with us yet, my BIL is now terminal with Esoph. cancer. He could go at any day. You sound like an incredible strong, caring person. I wish you peace and strength in the days ahead. It's not easy but it gets easier. The grief and bereavement and emotional support boards have been very helpful to me.
    Take care and Hugs,
    Cindy

    sorry to hear
    Becky,
Sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sure it was comforting to know she had her family around her, holding her hand.

Good luck with the run. I think it is a great idea. We all need to continue to spread the word and put the spot light on OVCA to help fund more research. Yes, September is OVCA awareness month. Ironically, the month I was diagnosed.

Best wishes to you and your family!!

I apologize for being so late with my condolences.
I'm so so sorry for your loss. Love never really dies; you will feel your mother's love every time you use any of her tools or handle any of her things or the things she bought for you over the years. You'll feel her love when you make her recipes and when you catch yourself replicating the little traditions she brought to your family, and the way she did things that you now do that way; or the little sayings she used that you picked up,... In a million ways you will know your mother has not really left you completely; she is in you. I lost my mother over a decade ago and I still feel her presence in my life each day. ((((Hugs))))
