Great news for you and glad you found us to share with.
It isn't easy trying to find the support we need for ourselves and I had to dig deep to find the underground lesbian gay breast cancer support group in my area. In 2000 we were the only support group of its kind across this entire country of Canada. Other cities had tried to form support groups but they never did go anywhere often being in very conservative areas.
You know when Ellen Degeneris came to Vancouver, BC about 5 years ago she actually donated tickets to her show to our little support group so we could get out and laugh. I will never forget that as long as I live and wow she was amazing to see LIVE. She was working on new material at the time so the crowd was very disappointed she didn't do any of her gay routine.
My partner and I went though we were very tired that day and it was all spur of the moment when the tickets came available. What a great experience and I will do my best now to contact her and thank her myself. My partner and I have always found the ability to laugh at it all but to get out and belly laugh like that was just something I cannot discribe to you all.
Posting on this board will keep this going and help us all gain insight and reality to our world.

    Good Luck
How many rads do you have to do. Depending on where you live, but in Canada we do it usually in half the time of those in the States. I had 16 treatments back in the day.
I hope you fly through them without too much trouble with fatigue. It is all worth it and then the ability to move on from it.

    Treatments
I have a total of 33 to look for to Tara. Two down and 31 to go. All is well so far. The doctor said around the second week is when I may start to feel the effects of fatigue. In the meantime I am resting well, exercising and keeping a good attitude. Thanks for the well wishes.

    Yay!!
Boosts are done and only 7 more rads treatments to go. I saw my oncologist this week and he gave me my script for Tamoxifen. I'm a little anxious about the side effects, but will keep a positive outlook. Right now looking forward to letting all the stripes and spots fade ;-) I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

    Wow
It seems to me those rads went by very quickly LilH,
Then again not always so quick for the one doing them. I hope you are still taking good care of yourself and resting if need be. Being Tired is draining and we need to really listen to our bodies.
Hope all is well with you,
    Tara

    Thanks Tara
It feels great to finally be done with Rads. I had my last treatment Tuesday and kept my promise to get my butt back on my bike the following day and have managed 7 miles each day since. I drew a big smiley face with the word DONE!! on my breast the last day and got a good laugh from my techs. ;-) I still struggle with the fatigue and so look forward to those late afternoon rest periods, but feel exercise is helping me begin to feel somewhat normal. Hope you are feeling and doing well!!
