I am so sorry to hear
I am so sorry to hear this,

I have seen some really sad individuals in my time, but this takes the cake! ! ! :-(

I am truly at a loss for words.

Can you imagine how miserable they must be inside?

Just the other day; we had a case where a family had come to this city to inter the ashes of their patriach to rest beside their mothers' grave. While they were inside a restaurant, someone broke into their car, stole a purse (the purse had the ashes of their father).

I don't have to tell you the family are just devastated! The box was clearly marked with the fathers name on a white label. They are still asking for the return, plus a reward with no questions asked.

We just can't let these people make our already hard time any harder by making US ruin our day.

    I am so sorry,

    Sharon

    other possibilites?
I worked in a long term care/rehab facility for many years. Is it possible it was picked up by mistake? How was the wig stored?

    Karma's a *****. I hope the
Karma's a ****. I hope the thief gets his/her full share of it, too.

You need to report it to the Director and they should be willing to do an investigation. They don't want a thief around the place any more than you do.

My mom had a friend years ago whose white Persian cat died. She tied a red ribbon around it's neck and lovingly placed it in a fancy box, with plans to bury her beloved pet on her family's farmland between Ft Worth and Denton. On the way, she stopped at a grocery store. I'm sure you can see where this is going. Someone stole the box - with the festive but very dead cat inside. I bet it broke someone from thieving.

    Robbed too
While in the hospital for my debulking surgery, My hospital "roommate" stole my warm-upmsuit and iPod. We looked and looked, called housekeeping, lost and found, etc. I wore dirty clothes home and wrote it off. The hosp called me at 10:30 that night to say they found my belongings in her bed. We picked the belongings up the next morn. After having spent two nights eith the woman, and witnessing other less-than-socially-appropriate behaviors, I pretty much convinced myself that there were underlying mental health issues at play all along. Still ticked me off.....

    No clothes
When I was in the hospital, they switched my room after surgery.
Somehow could never find my clothes. They were nothing special, but were those "favorite" comfy things you save. When it was time to go home, I had nothing to wear. My husband stopped at K-mart and got me one of those "old-lady" house dresses in hot pink. I was mortified to go home like that... LOL

    stolen wig
That is just the worst. My Mother is in a "high-class" assistedliving/nursing home facility. I did let her keep a few special pieces of jewelry, which I know is a no-no. Everything was fine for a few years, then her special 40th anniv. ring from my Dad was taken. I noticed things disappearing all the time. I was so mad. At that age, you just lose everything and I didn't have the heart to take away all her jewelry. She was always a jewelry person.
After that, I took all the valuble stuff and planted a fake gold ring. They took that too. I sure the pawn dealer set them straight.
Now, she has no wedding or engagement ring on. I feel so awful, but do I risk it? I don't care for myself, but would be so angry if that was stolen!
The director did offer to replace it, but I never did as I didn't have a picture or appraisal.
How could anybody steal a wig??? I sure hope they offered to replace it!

    Stealing
My friend's mother-in-law had alzheimers and was placed in the general population for a couple of years in a nursing home. She was a very upstanding lady but started stealing and hitting people. I think there are alot of unstable people and people who are taking scores of meds who would never otherwise take something that did't belong to them.

I try but still cannot wrap
I try but still cannot wrap my brain around someone taking a cancer patient's wig. The worst part is that it had to have been one of the staff members... they are the only people to access her belongings. We have to file a report- let's see if that gets us anywhere fast....

    I can relate.
I used to keep my medications in my medicine cabinet. A long time and close friend of my husband came to visit, and a day or so later, I discovered that half of my oxycodone, half of my ativan and all of the vicodine left from my oral surgery had gone missing.

Needless my meds are no longer being kept in the med cabinet and he is no longer welcome in our house!

I'm so sorry about your mom's wig!

    True story....
I used to have a family member (by marriage) who did the same thing. She would pilfer every type of muscle relaxant, pain pill, anti-anxiety pill.....and she did it to EVERYONE - no matter how sick they might be. She stole pain pills from the bathroom of an elderly relative, on a weekend, without regard for the poor woman's pain from Rheumatoid Arthritis.

So I saved a Vicodin bottle.....and replaced the pills with laxative tablets. I waited a couple of days, then e mailed her, but without accusing anyone. I just said, "Oh my goodness, someone has taken a pill bottle from my bathroom and it was full of the dog's worming medicine."

Don't know if it cured her or not, but it sure felt good.
