The problem with "KarenLaw's" post...

Joining this board, and posting a request asking for fax numbers,
email addresses, or personal responses, appears to most of us
as some sort of "scam" affair; Fishing for data never goes over too
well on any BBS.

Secondly, any oncologist will tell you that there is an approximate
percentage of individuals that will survive cancer, regardless if they
do everything, or absolutely nothing after surgery.

Surviving cancer after eating out of a dirty toilet, does not mean that
eating out of a dirty toilet cures cancer; it could be that you fell
into that lucky percentile that survives, regardless.....

I am a believer in Traditional Chinese Medicine. TCM has been
around for thousands of years, and is practiced today just as
it has been for those thousands of years. Hospitals in China
offer either science, or both combined; Many other countries
do likewise.

But can I attribute my survival so far to TCM? I could just have
fallen into the lucky 30% that survives my stage and grade of colon
cancer; It might not have anything to do with herbs or TCM.

But if I used chemotherapy, could I then claim it was that, that is
providing me with my survival? It still could be just the lucky percentile.

Karen Law made some very good points, and if she had left it
as an open letter describing her situation and what she's done,
instead of making it sound like her way is the only way, I would
do some research and see if what she's suggesting has serious merit.

I think flagging her post, and/or removing it was in error, but that's
only my opinion. I try to read and listen to any alternative available,
and use my own judgement regarding it's validity; I feel very
certain that everyone else here does the same.

We are all here due to cancer and our quest for survival. Some of
us head in one direction, and some in other directions, and hopefully,
we all hear one another, and understand that there really is no
"one way" to kill cancer cells. There are indeed, other ways
to help our own body fight cancer, and thanks to forums like this,
we can learn about the multitude of other ways..

I personally do not trust anyone that attempts to tell me that their
way is a guaranteed cure for cancer. It doesn't matter if it's a
western medicine physician, a TCM physician, or "Karen Law",
there is no guaranteed way, there are only other possible ways,
and each has to be weighed to each our cancer concerns, and
practical applications.

If you need a tumor removed quickly or it will kill you, you need
surgery, or some technique to remove it; Eating peach pits ain't
gonna' be the way.

All the imported herbs in the world, isn't going to remove a tumor
that's totally obstructing your colon to the point that your colon
is about to burst inside you.

How we fight cancer cells aside from the immediacy of an impending
fatal situation, should be our choice to make, since there is no "one way"
to do that with 100% success every time.

And anyone that tells you there is, should be ignored.

Aside from that.......

Howzit goin?

Best of health to all!

John

Yes, I agree, also. That was well put. Though I am a bit surprised that you equate TCM with drinking from a dirty toilet.

She posted the same spiel 6-7 times on this site in different forums. I think that if she(?) had something important to say and wanted to truly "help people" she would not have come out with guns drawn.

I agree when you say that there are percentages of people who survive cancer no matter what therapy they chose to follow. Just like there are those who do not survive cancer even if the chose chemo over TCM, TCM over chemo, toilet water over the SPAM diet. Part is the luck of the draw, part is who you have as doctors, part is how you are treated first, part is one's attitude, part is one's past health, and part is $hit happens (or doesn't happen)

Personally, I do not think she did anyone any good with her presentation even though some of what she said may have merit. (I keep using "she" but I have doubts about that. I think that's the empathy sale pitch working here).

I do think it takes a certain type of person to come to these sites and go phishing like that.

PS: drinking from a dirty toilet = TCM???
    I didn't see that "quote" ;-)

    Greg -

Aside from spitting my coffee on the keyboard and peeing a lil' in my pants,
your parsing of my comments are otherwise taken in the way they're intended.

    Thanks man.
