Just My Thoughts

We come here as newbies, seekers
Seeking knowledge and wisdom
Seeking compassion and understanding
We are greeted at Hogwarts and encouraged to begin our climb up the Survivor's Tree
When our minds and bodies are to week to make it even one more step
We are carried by the warriors that have fought the beast before us
We share in each others triumphs and tragedies
Each milestone is celebrated
Tonight there were Tears on My Pillow
Tears for a Kindred Spirit Warrior who must fight the beast again
Sadness crept into my heart for all those still fighting
And for those that have yet to be diagnosed that will follow us on this journey
Then I remembered
We are a family of Kindred Spirit Warriors
Our souls are united by the beast that we are all fighting
We are strong
We are survivors
And nothing can defeat us

PS. I could not get to sleep last night. I haven't written something like this in a long time but this was just pouring out of me. I had to get up and try to put my thoughts to paper. This is how I feel about this site and all of you that are here are a part of this poem. It does not rhyme but it comes from my heart. I guess what has happened to Chen and Meena has changed my perspective of how things really are and how, even though we will probably never meet each other, we touch each others lives in such a profound way.
Thanks
Donna

I too lost sleep last night thinking about Chen, Meena and the others who are such huge role models for all of us and are now facing more challenges with grace, couage and poise. Even though it was thenight after chemo, every time I woke, they popped into my head and my heart. Thank you for putting into beautiful words what we are all thinking but I could not do myself!

We have so many talented, creative people among our group...that was so touching and beautiful Donna. Our group is special, I have been on other discussion sites and none can compare to this one. We laugh, we cry, we feel connected. And every once in a while, one of our pink sisters comes along and puts eloquent words down and captures our spirit in writing.
Thank you Donna,

Thanks for all the kind
Thanks for all the kind words.
I try to keep my feelings mostly to myself but sometimes you have to speak out when you know it is right and true.
Always
