My husband David is back at MDA in Houston with a serious infection at the site of his extended left hepatectomy, bile duct resection, and hepataticojejunostomy he had March 25. He's been in and out of here numerous times with bile duct leakages and bile duct blockages. This time is very serious. We came to Houston Sunday and he was admitted through th ER. He is totally disoriented and really Ill. Fortunately our daughter and his sister are with us. Please keep in in your thoughts and prayers. He's on antibiotics and his fever is better, but we haven't seen any improvement in the last 36 hours except the fever is down. They are doing cultures and should know more about the bacteria in a couple of days.

Thanks to all of you, David is part of a very special group! You all are the best!

Hugs and Healing,
Priscilla

I pray for strength for David to fight this infection, guidance for his doctors and staff to heal David and strength and comfort for you and the rest of the family as you continue on this journey.

    Oh No...
    Hi Priscilla

Tell Big Dave hello from Big Tex:)

I'm sorry you are both in the hospital - but I'm glad you were able to get there - we hate the hospitals I know, but when we're ill, what better place to get the care that is needed.

I hope David will continue to do better - with you and Sis beside him, I feel good knowing he is in good hands.

Will keep you guys on my mind and I hope that you will have very good news for us very shortly.

Peace and Strength being sent to you both:)

    Priscilla,

I'm sorry to hear your husband is back in the hospital with this infection. I am praying now as I type this for him to recover and for them to discover exactly what the problem is soon.

    Hang in there-

    Thanks and an update
I do appreciate all your kind words. It really means a lot. After about 48 hours we are seeing some improvement. He was totally disoriented and is much less foggy tonight. He had slightly improved bilirubin today. He seems to feel better, too.

We are taking it a day at a time. But today is vastly better than yesterday.

Once again, thanks for everyone's support.

    Glad for the improvement
I somehow missed the first post, so I'm glad to see that he's improving some now. I will pray that this trend will continue!
