I Took My First Baby Steps at Being Naked!
It's been 4 months since my last chemo and my hair is not growing out as fast as I expected. It's only about quarter inch length and of course not the color I'm used to, so this was a big baby step to go out without the wig.
I felt totally free! Life is good! :>

You go!
Congratulations! I remember being so scared to "come out" with my peach fuzz head. A physician friend said "that's a radical haircut." She didn't know that I had been in treatment and wearing a wig. When I told her "it's the chemo special", she nearly died of embarrassment. It gave me a good laugh though.0 -

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! What a milestone~ we are all sooo proud of you!
Here are the stages of hair-growth: Bald, NewBorn, Baby Chick, Chia Pet, Finger in Light Socket, to finally, a semblance of what you had pre-chemo! :-)

Chen♥
That was a huge baby step! You showed a lot of courage and everything was just fine!
Losing one's hair is devastating while on chemo. I am so happy that yours is coming back now and that you felt good enough to go out without anything on your head, but, your new hair!
You are a beautiful, brave woman!

I am blocked from PM'ing you....but...
I will slip one in an envelope and get it off to you tomorrow....I'm sort of home bound today, waiting for the painters!
And, of course, this is only for days you don't want quite so much sun...I'm so proud of you! I never wore a wig, but hats and scarves I did do...
BIG hugs, Kathi0 -

I think I finally figured out how to unblock Kathi...I swear I still have chemo brain at times! If I haven't unblocked please let me know. I lost my blonde hair during chemo, but still act like a blonde at times...lol:>0 -

Way to go my sister in pink!! So happy for your new found freedom!! It takes alot of courage the first few times, doesn't it? After a while, it will feel like second nature!!

Yea for you!
Life is, indeed, good! I'm so happy for you. It must feel great, especially now that summer's here.
I am glad you said it took 4 months for your hair to grow this long. My family and friends ask when I'll have hair, and I say maybe by Christmas. I finished chemo 2 weeks ago. They don't believe me that it'll likely take that long! (This falls in the "why aren't you back to normal yet" category.)0 -
