here we go again! chemo here i come, cancer beware

Don't forget...
...to get some DVDs to watch (while wearing your new jammies and clean underwear :-). Comedies or musicals, or your favorite funny TV shows -- whatever makes you laugh or smile.
Cancer HATES laughter and joy, you know -- so make sure you have a little of both to help you get through chemo.
Big hug,
Traci0 -
I agree with Traci....
Cancer gets scared away with laughter...
I watched MASH every afternoon (luckily it is syndicated...) for an hour...
I'm sad to hear you are up again, but you beat it before, you will again.
Inflamatory Breast Cancer is a sneaky devil! It behaves, as you know, differently from all the others...sigh...I know, you are saying 'Why did I get so special?'. But you ARE special...never forget that!!!
I remember my second dx...first rectal then breast, if you remember. I stumbled for awhile, but knew, as you do, that there was no choice but to fight again!!!! My 5th (!) second opinion (tried to find someone who would tell me no chemo, LOL!) 'You worked so hard before, why would you throw that away by not fighting as hard as you can this time?'
We are here to listen, dearheart...keep us in the loop!
Hugs, Kathi0 -
I Love Lucy always reliableKathiM said:I agree with Traci....

I think I Love Lucy is also probably on in syndication at least once every day, pretty much everywhere.
I don't care how cra**y I felt on chemo, it's just impossible NOT to laugh when Lucy's on that candy assembly line, or getting drunk off of Vitameatavegamin, or taking that ballet class....0 -
So sorry to hear......
Meena....I don't post much, but had to let you know that you & all the other "sisters in pink" are in my thoughts & prayers each day....I am so sorry to hear that your cancer is back...but we know that God can heal us....He loves us & has promised to take care of us...I tell myself that each day... When I went thru my chemo, I bought a little DVD player...that you could either plug in or operate on batteries...kept it & some DVDs by my bed...if I didn't feel like getting up, I could watch movies from the comfort of my bed....you may also want to get a bag of lemon drops(candy)...they are very good for the nausea....never had to take but 1 pill for it...but did use the lemon drops whenever I'd feel a little queezy & it sure helped...gave them to a pregnant co-worker & she swears by them....you're not by yourself...we all fear recurrance, so sorry you have to face the reality of it......my tee shirt may say "FIGHT LIKE A GIRL", but we fight like "warriors"....you will get thru this, just take it one day @ a time...know you have many prayers & thoughts going your way....& many will be from members that just come on to read the posts for comfort(like I have done since last July)..we stop & pray for each of you....
Lifting you up in prayer....Margaret0 -

wow, thank you for your great responses already! My hubby and kids are great, but they are scared so i dont like to go on about cancer with them. my sisters and my extended family are not the kind that bring over casseroles, groceries, or offer to help. my sister already told me that my husband will have to learn to cook. but, i do find cooking to be theraputic, so i have some recipes to try, and i make a mean Lasagne!. oh here i am rattling. dvds on stock for today, When Harry met Sally, Holiday (i love this movie), and Twilight. Then, tonight, hockey game. Go FLYERS!0 -

So sorry to hear that your cancer came back. Sounds like you have a great attitude which will help you heal. I liked watching Law and Order SVU, but did enjoy silly movies like Airplane, Ace Ventura Pet Detective, stuff like that. Hang in there. We are here for you whenever you need us.

But you are going into this with true fight mode and a sense of humor! You are alredy "experienced" and I think that will help knowing what to do or not etc. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
Glad you'll be off work and can keep us posted daily...

Go meena, go. Kick it's a** again. I hate that it's reared it's ugly head again.
Happy you have a supporting family. Ice cream! Take care meena and I'll give extra prayers for you. Katz
whenshen it snuck back in your life. Cause it's not just you winding up to kick its butt, it's you with the wind at your back, powered by all of us here. I hate that any of us has to slam the door in its face more than once. We're praying for you, then we're all putting on our game faces and standing solidly back of you and everyone on the front lines of this fight. Be strong, dear sister.0 -

Meena, I am so sad to read that the beast is knocking at your door, again!! Just know that we will be here with you every step of this journey. You are a strong warrior and I know you'll beat it!! Sending positive energy and (((hugs))) your way.0 -
I must say, dear meena, that
I must say, dear meena, that I truly love how "careful" you are of the sisters here on the boards! You have thought about what you are going to say, and you posted in such a thoughtful way...it was very inspiring and made me love you even more! That you would take the feelings of the newbies, or those in remission into consideration is the mark of a true valiant lady.
I have every confidence that you will meet this challege with the courage and determination you have aleady shown. And on those days when the chemo is treating you less than kindly, and you are having a down kind of day, know that we are all here in your corner, cheering you on and giving you our strength. We have plenty to share.

I agree with what someone posted above. The beast got the wrong girl! You are a fighter and you will fight this again with everything you have! I understand that chemo is very difficult Meena, but, you can do it, you can!
Don't worry about scaring the newbies, or, even the old timers that are still here. All of us, each and every one of us, needs to know that it can happen, even to us. That will only make us all more diligent in getting our tests, self exams and listening to our inner selves. So, post whatever you want anytime.
You take care of yourself and know how much we all love you and how much we are all cheering you on!
