Update on Dad

Hi guys! I know it's been a while since I've posted and I apologize. I check this site daily and keep you all in my prayers. Just wanted to update you on my dad. He finished round 2 of his chemo (Cisplatin and 5-fu for 96 hours) and also finished up with his radiation which lasted about 5 1/2 weeks. He's been done with treatments for about a week and a half now and is starting to feel much better. He experienced minimal side effects from radiation and 1st round of chemo, and was a bit more nauseated with his 2nd round but seems to be getting his appetite back and feeling more energetic. He actually went to Red Robin tonight and had a cheeseburger and fries! His doctors seemed a bit surprised at how well he did throughout the treatment, especially the radiologist because he had no pain in swallowing. He is scheduled for a C.T. scan on June 1st and we are praying that everything looks good! Surgery is scheduled for July 8th. Dad has decided to stick with his original surgeon for the "Ivor Lewis" surgery and I am going to respect his decision. He seems to be a great surgeon with lots of experience so I think we are in good hands! I will keep you posted and please keep dad in your prayers for a great C.T. scan on the 1st!

Congratulations Dad!
Hi Faye
Thanks for your recent dad update. That is wonderful news. So glad he was wanting a cheeseburger and fries, and was able to eat it and enjoy it! I will be praying for good results from the scan. Keep us updated. Good luck to him on his upcoming surgery.
