Another "feel good" story....Stage IIIc and still in remission after 3 yrs

I'd do the same if I held my 1st remission that long!
Love the post as I am 111-c also. Unfortunately I'm on my 2nd recurrence, so I stopped contributing to my retirement account and am instead spending that money 'living large' and living full out with the time I have left! HA!

As soon as I went into remission, both times, I booked vacations as close to my next CT/PET as possible, figuring I better "get while the getting's good" as they say. I plan my life in 3-month segments, around my CT/PET scans and the treatments they may bring about. I leave tomorrow for a cruise, even though my last scan 'lit up', but I am squeaking in this fun, and returning in time for a scheduled June 8th needle biopsy and probably new surgery and chemo. It's so wonderful to be able to go while I still feel so good from my chemo break!

I also have a place booked at the beach for my whole family the week of July 4th, and I plan to take a chemo break to go along if I can safely do that and am not too sick from treatment by then. I NEED to go spend a week with my grandkids and my sons, and make some more happy memories. I figure by the time they get my biopsy results and then remove the lymph node mid-June and allow a week or so for me to recover from that surgery, I will only have 1 or 2 chemo infusions in before I go to the beach and I shouldn't be too sick yet. There's always a way to make your life work.
