AHCC anyone take it and have good results

first where do you buy this
how long does it take to show a little results, is it pill powder or what?
heard it is suppose to boost white blood count

    AHCC IS GREAT!
    Just a quick recap: DX in 2000, surgery, chemo. Recurrance in 2006, surgery, chemo. AFterward in 2006, I started taking mushroom extract(maitake, rishi, shitake blend), hoping it would bring up my killer cells. It really didn't do much. In 2009 my level was about 2. Last year, started AHCC in capsule form - killer cells came up really well! It is now about 26 which is really good. I had since purchased the powder, as it is more cost effective. But the capsules are more convenient. It really helps if you get a baseline blood test first to see what your killer cells are at, then about 6 weeks after taking the AHCC. I will also say that Vitamin D is important for killer cells as well, and has been proven to help prevent cancer and inflammation.

    MONOKA: What are "killer cells"? Nuetrofils?
    What are you looking for in blood test results that you call "killer cells"?

    HI LINDA!
    These are a type of lymphocyte, more like T-cells. But you would have to have a specific test for them. They are also called NK cells, for 'natural killer' cells. Homeopathic doctors are more inclined to test for them, but you can ask any physician and hopefully they can run that test for you. To me, it's a valuable part of the whole picture.

    Hair in photo is a wig. Real hair 1/4" long chemo crewcut!
    Thanks for the information and the compliment, but the hair in my photo is a wig, which I can only bear to wear when it is less than 60 degrees outside. I am leaving for a cruise tomorrow and will take it along but will 'go commando' if it is hot. I will be coming back from my vacation to a June 8th needle biopsy that will 'tell the tale' on a lymph node that lit up with a 7.8 SUV on my last PET. ARGH!! But at least I squeaked out a 4-month chemo break this spring, and am stretching it to take this cruise while I still feel good! And I'm going to FORGET ABOUT CANCER for the 9 days I am at sea!

    Hi there. You asked where you could buy this. Probably alot of places online. I know for sure Amazon.com sells it thru various retailers. The nice thing about Amazon is customers often rate products and you might find some good information there if you read the product reviews.
    I personally don't know anyone who used this , although I have heard of it. It seems kinda pricey to me but if it works, it's well worth it. Good luck!!
