Hey everybody, just wanted to know if anyone is on vectibix? I tried xeloda and couldn't handle the hand and foot thing, started erbitux but quit it due to severe rash and overall fatigue. Now the onc wants to start me on vectibix plus irinotecan. I hear vectibix is closely related to erbitux except it is not made with mouse proteins, only human proteins. It only takes an hour to give instead of 6 hrs like erbitux. It's a monoclonal antibody that deals with the EGFR. I was stage 3c, now I'm stage 4 with mets to lungs and running out of chemo options. After this it will be clinical trials or a second opinion. I've been on chemo of some sort for the last 3 yrs. Any info on vectibix side effects would be greatly appreciated, thank you all and God Bless everyone, Randy

I recently started on Iriontecan and Vectibix. I have found this chemo regime to be much easier to handle than the folfox. My onc keeps telling me i will develope the rash but so far I haven't. The key is to keep your skin mosturized, seems to be working for me. She also said I'd probably lose my hair, that hasn't happened yet either. I will have first scan since staring on this combo in a couple weeks. Guess I'll find out then how it's working. Hopefully this combo will work for you and you will have few side effects. Blessings to you.
