But first, we are going on a camping trip that we have been really looking forward to. Five nights at beautiful Hammond Lake in Tioga County, PA. We will keep you posted on the trip, and the trial, when time permits.
Warm wishes,

I guess I should have included a little background...
Pam was dx, 12-08 Stage IV w/mets to liver. Inoperable. For the first 6 months of treatment she was on Folfox 6 w/Avastin. Due to complications, she had to be taken off this regiment. Since Aug 09, she has been on Irinotecan and Xeloda. Everything was working good and she was handling the regiment well but unfortunately, last week's scan showed significant growth of her tumors.
I posted the topic "How many chemo regiments for CRC?" on this board and received a lot of support and info on clinical trials. You can see that thread here:

(I really have to learn to do a hot link)
Anyway, we met with her onc yesterday and he had info on 6 different trials that he discussed in depth with us. After much discussion, we collectively chose the one at the Lombardi Cancer Center in DC.
A Clinical Trial is usually an experimental regiment consisting of new drugs, or combination of drugs. This particular trial uses and existing drug (Temozolomide) and an experimantel drug (ABT-888).
Hope this helps.
By the way, we live in Snyder Co and love going to the Poconos!

Have a great vacation
Al.
I hope you and Pam have a wonderful vacation! I'll bet that is a beautiful place to camp. I also wish you both exceptional results with the clinical trial. My husband's cancer spread to his liver, too, and we were told he was inoperable by two surgeons but on the third try at M D Anderson he was given new hope. His liver resection was in March and he goes back for scans tomorrow to see how things are working out. So this cancer is a roller coaster, and definitely not for sissies!
Best of luck to both of you!
Hugs and Healing,
Priscilla0
