Hi, just wondering how many of you have lap tops? My husband and girls got me one for mothers day. I don't know how I survived w/o it. It is the best!!!!!

    working on one now
while sitting in the recliner with my feet up with a cup of tea nearby and some background jazz watching the light fade over the hills. oh yes sweet, and with a backlit keyboard no less for low light conditions....better stop now :-)

    Lap top
I would love to have one. I have a great pc so I can't really justify having a lap top just yet, I am the only one in the family without one, not complaining I just realized it, lol.

    Take care

Yes, I have one. I would take it and be online during my treatments or watch a movie or email. It helped pass time. Ann

Convenient to use, especially if stuck in bed for a spell....
Unfortunately, don't know too much about how they work and I'm limited in what I know how to do but I can send/receive messages and access info off internet.Computers were just being introduced as I was nearing end of college so I missed out on getting in on the ground floor, so to speak. Somehow, it still keeps me "connected", whatever that means, tho there's a hellofalot I don't know how to do, such as post my lovely picture (which would frighten little kids who saw it)where that duckie is.....enjoy the day....steve.

I live in back of a library so I access their WIFI for free in my bedroom for laptop.

    iPad for Laptop Substitute
We recently purchased the iPad and absolutely love it. You still have to have a computer, either laptop or desktop for some functions but it does 90% of what a computer does and is so easy and fun to use. It is especially great for those long hospital stays or chemo infusions because it is light weight and goes anywhere. Mine fits in my larger purses.

Just a thought for those who have an interest. David and I highly recommend. And unfortunately we are not getting a penny from Apple, even though every doctor who has seen it stops for a look and says they are going to buy one!

    Hugs and Healing,

    Love it
George has a fairly new Apple PC upstairs and I make sure he keeps the Dell laptop downstairs. I love it that I can sit out on the deck, on the couch, anywhere in the house enjoy a cup of coffe, and zoom around the internet. I don't go up and use the Apple much and that is a shame because it cost tons more than the Dell.

Congrats on the laptop. It is always fun to get something new and unexpected.

Have fun with it - Tina

I love my iPad - it is my new best friend - which it ticking my wife (old best friend) off quite a bit.

I have all my scans (except PET - takes to long to export the individual pics) and many of my reports on it also.

    Rick,

Maybe you should get one for her! Then you won't feel guilty! Mine is wifi so I have to be home or somewhere with it. But it works great at all the drs and hospital. And home! Do you have a favorite AP?

    Enjoy!

    Not a fan...
The monitor is too small. I got spoiled with work. I have a G5 Mac with a GIANT monitor. The 20" monitor I have at home seems a bit small to me now. They are convenient though, I will say that.

Watch keeping them on your lap, it can lower men's sperm count!
    ;-)
I guess we get "roasted nuts"?

    Right on Phil
Right on Phil. I have been involved with computers from 67. Worked in both sales and service. Started with a Compact luggable X type at home in 87. I will never forget how happy I was, when I installed a 10 meg hard drive in it.

Lap tops are 10 pounds of crap in a 5 pound box. It is the heat build up that kills them. My old brain is also set in concrete to standard size keyboards.
