Did my first Friday night at Carson Park Fairgrounds. My 5 year old was graduating from pre school and it was at 7 so I missed the survivors lap, thats OK, I made the luminary walk and my kids and I walked about 5 laps..Then we sat around with our booth that we had there from our church. We did for our first time ever raise and cleared $4,176.00 at our booth and was named top Rookie booth of the year. We sold out of Bar B Que in 3 hours...it was a very moving experience that I will never forget. I found a luminary that my wife had gotten for me...Whew...that was a very emotional moment.....all in all it was more than I expected...met a lot of nice people there also....

I'm so glad you got to do it! It'll be even more moving if you go back next year and get to do the survivors' lap. I always cry!

    so happy for you
I've done relay for two years now. It's so emotional and rewarding. When I see all the bags, It just astounds me, makes me mad, makes me sad and makes me motivated to keep fighting all in the same emotion! We can send a man to the moon, we know what the earth is made of, we know about our universe but we can't stop cancer from destroying lives. At least doing Relay makes me feel that I'm helping to find a cure even in a very small way. Thank you for relaying too. More should get walking. God bless you Jill

High Clift, glad you're doing well
Plan on attending my first Relay this June here in Brooklyn. Only problem is, if I cried upon reading letter announcing it from ACS, can't imagine how many tears I'll shed meeting fellow colostamates and other cancer survivors......I hope I don't run into anyone I had worked with or had once known only because that means they dealt with this too (which is a good thing since they survived but bad as well for having to do so).....Hope all doing as well as can be done....steve
