MD Anderson update on Louann

Well I am 2nd or 3rd on the review list and should hear something by weeks end and I am still trying to raise the money to go and stay for the 8 days they say it will be and my husband lost his job 2 days ago so he thinks God plans for him to go and be with me. It will cost 500 to stay in a motel for a week and food well don't know that amount but I know this is my only hope to fight this and make a full recovery . I ask anyone who can help me to please help me my e mail is in my profile get ahold of me and we can talk I hope I have not broken any rules here by asking for help...

    help with travel
    There are many advocacy groups that will help with travel needs. Airlifeline, angel flight america, corporate angel network are just to name a few. The cancer patient advocacy group also can help with expenses up to a certain amount.

    Hope Lodge
    Look into Hope Lodge. Many, many states have them. The offer free housing, food and transportation to and from treatment. They have a new one in Texas but I don't know Texas so don't know if it is close to M. D. Anderson. Worth a look see. They are run by the American Cancer Society. Maybe one of our members in Texas may know more.

    I looked this up on the net from Tina's descriptio. Seems there is one Hope Lodge, but it is in Lubbock, which is West Texas. And LouAnn will be in Houston, which is is Southwest Texas -they are quite a distance apart.

    Perhaps, they might have connections with another organization in Houston, or closer to M.D. Anderson.

    I look to get apointment date monday and am looking into anything I can to get there I am sorry I am not here much but I am so very ill having a hard time keeping stuff down and even the meds to prevent me from throwing up aren't helping all the time I spend most of my day in bed and am getting weaker by the second. I have last another 12 pounds since the 7th and now at 136 and can't loose any more but know I will. I am praying for God's mercy right now and things to look up. My husband lost his job last week and things will get very hard for us as time goes on. Please keep us in your prayers and if I don't come in here to see all the responces please know I love all of you.
