Guys,
for those that are interested, I put pictures of the farm on my expressins page. I think you will see why this old farm has a healing effect on me. Were talking big time placebo.

    Wow
Beautiful pictures. You must have a lot of acreage there and do you actually cut all that grass? Truly breath taking.

    Awesome!
    Kerry,
Your farm is awesome. It looks so comforting there. I grew up in the country, I miss the quite and the relaxed feel as well as seeing the stars at night. They do say you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl, so true!

    Thanks for sharing your pictures

    Wow... that's a lotta lawn
Wow... that's a lotta lawn to mow, or do you just turn out sheep? What a BEAUTIFUL place you live on. I can see the placebo effect and how it would heal you.

    Very Nice
I was just looking in your front yard to find out where you were peeing? :)

Great pics, Kerry - you are certainly blessed.

    lawn
    Kim,
It only takes 3 hrs to cut the back yard. Then I only have to cut 2 times a month.
In 6 hours I can cut the whole place. Hell, I'm retired. What else am I going to do.
I do have a killer diesel mower. It's the kind parks use.

When I do croak, my ashes are going below the pine trees in the back yard. The deer will get their revenge as they love to crap down there.

    WOW!!
    Kerry,

You could host a Colonapalooza at your farm! Phil could set up the rock band in the field, we could all tent, smoke medicinal marijuana, and practice free love! (for those few of us with working parts!) LOL!!

    Colonstock 2010!

Thanks for the pictures. They have a healing effect on me!

Your property is beautiful. I'm with Rob, party at Kerry's. Medical marijuana is legal here in Michigan so I better download the form for a license and get it done pronto! I'll leave the "free love" planning to Rob!

Take care and happy cutting - Tina

more folks retire in places like this
    Folks,
I think you are going to see more folks retire in places like this. Taxes are 1/3 of the STL suburbs. Housing cost are about 1/2. You do give up some things living in the boondocks. I only go to town once a week to take the wife to dinner. The wife goes twice. We are seeing more folks from the east and west coast moving here. For me the tranquility trumps the downside. When I do croak the wife is out of here. There is no way she could maintain it.

You do have to spend on equipment, but as I was deprived Tonka toys as a child, it does not get to me spending on my big boy toys.

We are just close enough for the grandkids and they love it here. When they come it is for the weekend. It takes us a week to recover.
