Dry Mouth from neck radiation.

Stoppers 4 works ok better than Oasis.

My doctor just gave me Evoxa. Need to take it for a year.

Has anyone tried Evoxac ? Having very hard time sleeping.

    Dry mouth
My husband had really dry mouth for the first few six months after treatment stopped and couldn't sleep because he was getting up drinking water all night. We bought a humidifier and used it everynight. What a difference that made. he is 8 months post radiation treatment and now we don't use the humidifier at all and he is sleeping through the night. It will get better, but I would say give it a try.

I got GC Dry Mouth Gel from dentist and it seems to work the best out of the things that I tried.

    Hi Norton
I was on Evoxa for about 6 months and it did not do too much for me right out of treatment. All I use is the stoppers4 at night. I had radiation twice to the head for NPC cancer and I am now 5 years passed my last treatment I also have about 65% of my saliva gland working again. Sometime it just takes time for everything to heal again it will get better but understand that there will be a new normal you.

    Take care my friend

I'm a 18 months out from my radiation for SCC base of tongue. Accupuncture has help significantly. It took 2 weeks at 2 tx a week before I started noticing a difference. I've been using Xylimelts at night and they have helped quite a bit. They help generate a little bit of moisture and they last for hours while sleeping. I get them at drugstore.com

    ACUPUNCTURE
Norton, I have been getting Acupuncture for the last couple of months after have no Saliva. I am regaining some, not a lot, but anything is better than '0'. I am probably about 10-15% now and 7 month post treatment. I did get really fried though with SCC to the left tonsil, so my Rads hit me right in the salivary glands.

The Biotene Gel is good and at night & I use GC Mousse to protect my teeth. If I sleep with my mouth open, which is most of the time, then I go dry very quickly. Slowly slowly catch the monkey (I hope).
