Thanks for the encouragement. My Sister was a survivor before me. Her attitude, even when she was dying from cancer was, "I have cancer, but I am not sick". Her experience and mine have made me appreciate the little things more too.

but it's been continuing this year, so my hope is that it's all over for a while. First I was detected on June 26th, my husband had a heart attack on Aug. 12th, my 21 year old daughter had to have emergency lung surgery in Jan. 2010, and now my 2nd son just had his first seizure at 29! Please Lord, give us a breaK!!!0 -

Kickie, I agree with you.
Kickie, I agree with you. If there is good that comes from this experience, it is that our health can not be guaranteed and neither can life. I, too, look at each day differently than I did prior to my dx. I am thankful each day and try not to waste it with non-productive things. Instead, I spend more time to stopping and smelling the flowers. I also tell my family "I love them" each and every day.0 -

I know what you mean. What a year.. August, my beloved father in law who lived with us for 13 years, had to have hospice in the house and then died August 31, 98 years old...miss him so even though he was ready to go. October, my husband fell in the pool ( his feet are sore and numb) broke his knee - but did not hit his head and drown thank heavens. January, my bilaterals. April, husband had a stroke - doing fine now - oxygen to him right away, and they could use the "clot buster" on him. My sister in law just had her lumpectomies. Now hubby just needs cataract surgery - nice an simple. Granddaughter will have more surgery on her jaw this summer - born without one and they built her one when she turned 16. Thank heavens all these things staggered themselves.. not sure how we would have coped if any of those had happened at the same time! Humor, love, and family support got us all through this.
whew!! I am retiring at the end of June! I think I will lay in a heap for a week before making any plans! LOL
Hang in there everyone! Have a great Friday!0 -

what a beautiful attitude. You are so right - anyone who has had to endure cancer comes to learn what is really most important! We are so blessed - I have met so many angels since visiting this site - you are all wonderful and I do believe we are all so very lucky!
I just had a birthday and I'm so very grateful - and a new grandbaby in the Fall - I have so many, many blessings!
Thank you for your wonderful post.
much love,

What a beautiful lady with a beautiful attitude! Yes, that is you! I have had bc twice and I truly appreciate everyday and enjoy life to the fullest! There is life after cancer and everyone needs to know that! You keep thinking the way you do and 2010 and every year after that will turn into your best year ever!
