As we now all know the importance of a colonoscopy, it should come as no surprise that a study by Ma
An interesting statement was :"Its known already that longer colon exam times during endoscope withdrawal increase polyp detection rates. Our data show that each additional minute spent on withdrawal predicts a 4 percent increase in the polyp detection rate."

thanks Steve
A personal comment...Not only can they miss polyps but they can miss tumors too. I know this from first hand experience. A colonoscopy is only as good as the doctor performing it.
That is why I stayed awake through the last scope...making sure the doc did his job.He did and I am happy with the results.

veterinary hospital doc
On my first colonoscopy at the veterinary hospital the doc took out 5. My colon surgeon did not like what he saw with just an office scope. He had me do another one. This was just 3 weeks apart. His guy took out 9 more. His comment was “hell I think they scared the first doc”. The last one I just got, the colon surgeon did it himself.0 -

Pat darling, you got to remember I live way out in the woods. It’s a 20 mile drive to the closest gas station from the farm. The locals all refer to the hospital in town as the vet clinic. The time I was bleeding out in my gut, I went to the emergency room. They sent me home saying nothing was wrong. The next day we went to STL for a normal doc appointment. That doc put me in the hospital as soon as he looked at me. Hell I was mostly dead. They do have a few good docs. My primary doc is not even an MD, he is a DO. He is good old country doc.0 -
