Welcome
talk to your oncologist and to the doc who prescribe medication. In order to cope with this patient need to report her symptoms. Oncologist may change med to a different one. Phycologist can be helpful as well as support group. Tell them to come here to this site and meet people with similar experiences.

Definitely need to talk with doctors now
I don't know how long ago her surgeries were, but it is common to be depressed and tearful after any surgery. This may not show up immediately.
There are often alternative medications without side effects of sleeplessness, etc. They each need to talk to their doctors as soon as possible about their meds and possible referral to a psychologist. It doesn't have to be this way!
Yes, introduce them to this site so they can vent. Maybe the "mean" one, especially, needs an outlet for her anger and frustration. This is the place.0 -
Welcome
There are so many things that we are on that can change our personalities - let alone the stress of dealing with everything that we are going through, the fear of looking different from the surgery, the side effects of the meds. Some of the meds that they give you for the nausea work directly on the brain. Some folks have trouble with the steroids and may develop a steroid psychosis. Like everyone said, the best route is to talk with the doctor and let them help figure out what is going on and how to attack it. Good luck!0 -

Of course it does!
It is a medication that blocks the flow of hormone production. It makes common sense that medications such as this will change your personality. When I first started taking it, I thought I was losing my mind. I was one of the biggest B's out there. I hated myslef let alone others hating me. I went to my docs and said, HELP! They put me on a low dose of effexor and Vit. B 12. It helped. Other than the hot flashes that are off the wall, I am no longer a Big B. (that might be open for debate) LOL
Hugs,
Annie
