I had a left breast mastectomy a year ago this last March. I am currently experiencing sometimes intense pain right in the center of the site and sometimes in my arm. (I am going to be seen on May 10 at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute). I am wondering if this is normal even this long post surgery or if this should be a concern. Does anybody know?

Stacey

Everyone is different. My surgery was 20 months ago and I still have pain in my arm due to lymphedema need to stretches every day and periodically have pain at my mastectomy site. Please bring your concerns to your doctors attention. I hope your doctor with give you his/her professional opinion.
    Good luck with your visit,
