PET scan on friday..........nervous.

My hubby is getting another PET on Friday to see how the CA is now. He has had two rounds of chemo. He has lymph node involvement, but a biopsy came back inconclusive, so we really don't know if the nodes are ca or reacting to the ca. The doc says thats why they want to rescan now, because they don't want to withhold more aggresive treatment if by chance the nodes are not ca. I am kinda confused as to how another scan will help them come to a conclusion with this, because if they showed up on the first scan and were just reacting, if they show up again couldn't they just still be reacting?.
So confusing, but I have learned so much from reading everyones stories here. Thanks so much.

Best of Luck
Hi Nancy
Sounds like the drs know what they are doing. The PET scan will show everything you will need to know.
I agree it can get confusing, but just ask a lot of questions and wait to get the answers. You always want to get another scan if it comes back inconclusive. I was a caregiver for my dad. We fought his ec for 16 months. He recently passed away on 3/9/10 when he got mets to his liver. Good luck to both of you and let us know how it turns out.
