Looking for suggestions on transportation assistance

My daughter lives in a remote area of Washington. Can you suggest how I can find some assistance with providing ground transportation to get her to her weekly treatments? We live in Georgia so I'm looking for help in the Bremerton/Port Orchard area.

    check with local ACS group
    Rick, do try getting on the phone with a local ACS chapter in the city where your daughter gets her treatments. In addition to sponsoring the Look Good, Feel Better program for women, they can sometimes help with networking, for example linking up your daughter with other chemo patients in her area.

    You can also post in the forum for her type of cancer. Quite a bit of networking goes on there, including some Facebook groups. Wish I had more to offer. I have a grown daughter, too.

    I agree that you should have your daughter contact the American Cancer Society. The is an 800 number if she can't find a local office. There are a number of services that she might be able to use. I know ours has a group of volunteer drivers. Your daughter moth also check with a local church and ask friends. We discovered during my husband's 6year battle that people really want to help but don't always know how. Best wishes, Fay

    Hi Rick,
    I agree with the other posts, make a call to the ACS. They helped me with gas assistance for my dad while he was in treatment. You can also try your church, if you have one. Are you a senior? If so, you can call the senior center in your area. Hope this helps.

    I have also seen the American Red Cross bringing cancer patients to my husband's cancer treatment center in Denver, so that might be a resource for your daughter as well.
