God Bless you Grandma
Hi Grandma Jo
Welcome. I am not familiar with this dye, or with this kind of reaction to it. But I am sure someone on this board will be. I was a caregiver for my dad, Ray. He recently passed away from ec. I do know of a very good prescription for constipation that my dad had to take. It is call Lactalouse. it is in liquid form. You take it 2x a day. It works great. Maybe her dr can prescribe it. Best of luck to both of you.
Let us know how you make out.

Shortly after I posted to this site we left for the emergency room . Her heart rate shot to 145 over 90 and her temp went up to 102.5 in a short time. She was in extreme pain. She was admitted to Intensive Care unit on Saturday night . She had ultra sounds done of her legs for blood clots and her chest looking for water around the heart and lungs. Yesterday they took off a quart of liquid off her lung and found a small blood clot in the other . Her heart rate came back down right after the fluid was drained off her lung. We are waiting for tests results by tomorrow. One of the surgeons thought it might be from the intense surgery she had in Nov. She had both lungs deflated and they removed 2/3 of her stomach and 2/3 of her esphagus and 8 lymph nodes, four of which tested positive for cancer. She has been fighting to live with every breath in her. She said to me" My son needs me." He has a seizure disorder and end stage renal failure. So we are determined to march on with the Lord guiding us to the right decisions. I am thankful to you for posting to me and regarding me as a friend . I feel much better knowing I can reach out in my hour of need and find a friend who has been there and is willing to share experiences of this journey. I thank you for all your research on this red dye allergy . I still feel there is a connection and will continue to search in this latest information to settle my own peace of mind.unknown said:This comment has been removed by the Moderator

Thank you for replying to me. My daughter was admitted into the ER shortly after posting this letter for help. They removed a quart of water off her lungs and found a small blood clot. We are waiting for the results of the test. She was doing fine until they injected the red dye to remove her filter. I will pursue this theory with a lot of information, that WIlliam sent me to read, on the internet sites.
I have found this site to be a wonderful source of information by experience and a loving source of true caring souls. Bless you Grandma JO0
