HERE'S WHAT'S UP !
haven't posted for a while but I have been "lurking" now and then.
I had a pet/ct scan last week, and while the mets are stable,
they saw a spot in a chamber of my heart (NOT CANCER,didn't light up )
they think may be blood clot.Had an echocardiogram today but results were inconclusive.
So now I have to go in tomorrow for a transesophageal echocardiogram.
( like an endoscopy, tube and camera down the throat.they promised I would be asleep !)
If it is a blood clot ,I will be admitted for a few days while they work on getting clot stable with blood thinners.
Has anyone had this procedure done?
I am freaking out just a little tonight ,the last thing I want is another hospital stay,
and I know if clots breaks away it could be bad news.
Guess all I really wanted was to say (type) outloud that I am scared.
Thanks for listening.

I have missed you!
Hi Kate,
I have missed you + am so glad you posted. I am glad your mets are stable + sorry to hear about this spot on your heart. I am sorry you need to have this procedure + that you are scared. That is totally understandable though. The good news is you won't be awake during the procedure + they will figure out what it is + take the appropriate action. I will be thinking of you; good luck tomorrow. Please let us know what happens. Take good care!0 -
blood clots
My husband just had blood clot trouble (he has no other medical problems). He was short of breath and had chest pain and we found out he had two blood clots in his left leg and one in each lung. He was in the hospital from Wednesday night to Sunday morning to get his blood thinned down. It wasn't bad once the medicine started working and he could get up and walk around. At least he could eat whatever he wanted! Now he's just kind of tired from having that thin blood and has been going to work but napping alot. So if that happens to you, it's normal. Good Luck!!0 -

gosh after all the sex talk your title of, "here's what's up" kinda got me going.
I know you are scared and I wish I knew what to say to make that better. It will all be okay, you'll see.
love you
Early on, before Tx begab, I had a scope with camera, etc down my throat while I was " in another land" and before or after that they did one up my other oriface, which was still available for probing. Gotit at both ends that day.....Hope all goes smooth with yours.....steve0 -
Kate
So happy to hear the mets are stable and hope the clot can be dealt with quickly and safely. Hey, my middle son really likes you. Jon hasn't been able to do all the Facebook games for a couple of weeks because of a new work schedule but he mentioned you last time he was telling me about his 'farm'.0 -

Hey there!
You sure know how to enter a room, LOL:)
You must be on High Anxiety Alert about now, but who wouldn't be?
Sounds like a plan though, and a shot of happy juice followed by a short nap sounds like a good Rx. I do hope all goes well - sounds like you already sorta' know what to expect and if you end up in the hospital, that sounds like a pretty good place to be about now...you'll be able to get some help there.
Take care and good to see you!

One
One of my fellow workers had a blood clot in his heart,he had trouble breathing, thats how they found it.He only had to stay in the hospital overnight, just for observation. He got blood thinners, and had to take some tests, and he's doing ok,back to normal.I just did an endoscopy last month,I was out like a burnt bulb, and never felt a thing, during or after.I think you will be ok,and don't need to worry. It is just normal to worry.Good luck.I will be praying for you.0 -
