Week 5
Well i'm starting my 5th week. Just got back my friend the chemo bag! Oh how I did not miss it! I'm pretty burned but hope to finish this weeks rad treatments, then I get next week off and the following week boosts? anyone have these? After that done with treatments! If not for all of you I would not have known about half of the things that have happened to me. Thanks to all of you for sharing! I think the worst is the insane itching if not for my new friend Benadryl I don't know what I would do! Mouth sores were awful but I got magic mouthwash and it worked great! Today I made sure to get a script for it in case I get them again. Thank you all,
Lisa

Best wishes
Hi Skittles--
Just want to wish you the very best with the remaining treatments. I know the chemo bag is no fun, but in a few days, you'll be rid of that. The last few treatments are rough but you can do this! So very many of us have and we are here to cheer you on! Keep us posted on how things are going.0 -
Boosts? What are those?mtnmama said:boosts
Hey Lisa,
I had 8 boosts after rad, little different but pretty much the same hahaha, glad you are at the end of treatment and I hope all goes well with you...christine
What are boosts? Boosts of radiation? Boosts of chemo? I haven't heard any of my doctors use the term. Is this something they mentioned as part of your standard treatment or something they decided to add after the standard...?0 -

Hi Chris--
Radiation boosts are treatments that are focused on a very small area--as in our case, the tumor. My boosts were given during the end of my 30 treatments, during the last week or so. My treatment field started out over the entire pelvic area, was reduced in size twice, with the last reduction aimed solely at the tumor--the boosts. I'm not sure about chemo boosts, as with our treatment, 2 rounds is the norm.0
