My new plan with my onc...
I think I'm gonna print out my replies I've gotten here and at the Colon Club to see if this might change his mind. His onc nurses say he'll never put me on oxi again because of the reaction. I just wanna try to change his mind.
Is there anything else anyone would do?
I'm looking for ideas so he might continue it. If he absolutely won't, I guess I'll just go with the 5-FU and the Leucovorin. I don't want avastin or Irinotecan. I'm really flying blind here. Any other ideas?

Tight throat and splotches
I had splotches that moved all over my body and a tight throat. My onc thought I'd never be able to complete all 12. He added in Ativan prior to chemo, with a bit more Benadryl and I completed all 12.0 -
I handled 5 rounds of oxy
My drs were satisfied with that - I had to quit because of severe neuropathy. Your dr doesn't want to kill you, just the tumor. You can discuss it, but you'll have to trust your dr.
For me, the IP (IntraPeritoneal) chemo was more important, but I only got through 5 rounds of a planned 8 before my drs stopped it because of the level of pain I was in. I begged them to continue, to just drug me more (I was being heavily drugged with Dilaudid and Hydrocodone to tolerate the treatments) but they felt that the pain might indicate more damage than benefit - no more IP chemo. But I understand how you feel, wanting to do anything to ensure that this beast is stopped.0 -

Holly I wish I could be more help. My dr stopped oxi after 6 rounds because of severe neuropathy and extremely low blood counts. Stayed on leucovorin and 5-fu until it stopped working in march. Will be starting on iriontecan and vectibix april 21. Don't know what to expect just hoping for the best. Your drs want what is best for you they don't want to harm you by continuing the oxi. Hopefully they will come up with another combination of chemo that will work for you. Blessings to you all. Deb0
