vain or getting back to normal

chemo sure takes a toll on
chemo sure takes a toll on the ol' skin, it seems like. I can't even wear powder anymore. And I went out in the sun without my SPF one afternoon and it seems like I have a permaburn now. The only thing I have found that helps is Noxema for washing, Proactive every other day or so for the bumps, and Olay sensitive skin hydrating cream for the dryness. Everything else dries, itches, or burns. I will just have to be patient about makeup b/c I can't find one that doesn't irritate my skin right now. As far as nails, I paint my toenails now because they are ug-uh-ly. But, yeah, they said no pedicures or manicures. Oh well, it's kinda fun to paint them myself sometimes.
PS Dr said part of the reason for the bumps on my face is the low immune system. Pimples are mini infections - just like any other infection you can't get rid of it as easy. Said it'll right itself in time. Just have to be patient.0 -

It just seems it's onc thing or another doesn't it? My skin got (and is) extremely dry and flaky. My onc recommended Dove soap, I have always used Dove so that was great. And I use Clinque Dramatically Different Moisturing Lotion for Extra Dry Skin. I have never experienced the burning you have. You poor kid. Does your onc have any suggestions? Perhaps a determatologist (I know, another doctor!)
I hope some of these suggestions work for you...

What has your oncologist or dermatologist said? Surely there is something they can give you to help your skin. Wishing you good luck Shortscake! And, you are beautiful!

I think thinking about what
I think thinking about what we look like (vain) is a good sign! I'm having a problem with rashes but saw a dermatologist and still struggle but it's much better. It would be best to check with the doctor tho with what you should use. He might want you to use a medication.0 -

I love Mary Kay products. Have used them for 15 years, and wouldn't use anything else. Go onto marykay.com to get a consultant near you.
Clinique has some really good products. Sorry for this happening to you! Good luck!0 -

Your not going to believe this, but baby butt cream. Yep the stuff we put on our babies butts. I have tired this and it helps. I also saw it last week on the Dr Oz show if you know who he is. Zinc is very good for the skin and it blocks the sun. Most baby cream also have Vit E and this is also good for the skin. Give it a try. Can't hurt, its safe for babies.0
