FYI ONLY-New Proton Therapy Institute
Feb2010

The Hampton Roads area in Virginia will have its own proton therapy institute. It will be operational in August. I have indicated on my other posts that I'm now considering proton therapy instead of surgery. Bringing the treatment closer to home makes it even better.

Location, location, location! Did you make your decision?
I am trying to find out if one can have proton therapy plus hormone treatments (Lupron & Casodex). Any ideas?
I was on hormone therapy (Eligard) and had 15 proton and 25 external rad at LLU. I know it is done, but usually when the hormone treatment is started it indicates a high gleason or positive margins which may also call for a combination of proton and exteranl beam radiation like I had which is still better than external beam alone.0
