My husband's ct scans showed no cancer anywhere. The esophagus is clean and so are the rest of the organs. We are truly blessed this Good Friday.

His diagnosis was in August, Stage IV with one met to a lymph node under his clavicle, non operatable. He qualified for a clinical trial using the chemo drug Erbitux. I don't know if this is what helped so much, his oncologist thinks it could be. His cancer was squamos.

There is hope for Stage IV...now it's three months and then a chest x-ray. There is a definite protocol that U. of Chicago has to follow in this clinical trial...like a book 6 inches wide.

Thank you for all your prayers and good thoughts. We're getting ready for Tenebrae services at our parish church. We'll be thanking God for the blessings of time he has given us.

    Great news and congratulations.

From the clinical trial results I have looked at the addition of Erbitux to the chemo raises survival rates in the early years to over 70% -- since these are new trials not sure if they have old enough data for longer term results. Erbitux is considered a new miracle drug by many --- it has been FDA approved for colon, and neck cancer --- still not for espohageal because the trials are not completed here in the US --- you can get it in Europe if you can afford it. Hopefully, the FDA will approve the drug for espohageal cancer soon it really seems to make a difference.
