Update on Saundra
Sandy underwent about four hours of surgery this morning at Baylor Medical Center, and will remain in the recovery room until late tomorrow morning. One large tumor was on her colon, also compromising blood vessels to her left leg. The surgeons got about 85 percent. She now has a colostomoy, because the remaining tumor is at the point where the colon would have been reconnected.
She had to have a lot of blood transfused.
The colostomy may be reversed later, if they get the rest of the tumor. It is cancerous, therefore the chemo was no longer working for her.
She will have continued swelling of her left leg, necessitating a compression stocking from now on.
She survived, and she is a fighter. We expect she will recover and be her usual feisty self.

Thank you for the update
Thank you for the update Carlene,
All day my thoughts were on Saundra and Bonnie.
It is a relief to know at least they know what the problems are and no maybe a better solution can be found for her later.
But to know she is okay and resting is truly blessed news.
Thank you again,
Sharon0
