I wanted to give a quick update on my Dad and also ask a question. Round 1 of my Dads chemo ended Friday. He stayed in the hospital for the full 5 days of receiving chemo, his chemo medicine is 5FU and Cisplatin. He also received week 1 of radiation, has 4 more weeks to go of radiation, he will be admitted back in to the hospital in 3 wks for round 2 of chemo. He seemed to do fairly well with the chemo and radiation so far. He is down to 111 pounds, which is still a huge concern of mine, but all and all he seems to be doing well.
Now on to the question that i have. My dad told me this morning that he felt like he was having trouble breathing. Does anyone know if this is a side effect to the chemo and radiation or not? I did some research on the side effects but did not see shortness of breath as a side effect.

I hope everyone has a great Easter!!!!

    Thank You Sherri
Thank you Sherri for this information, i will pass it on to my brave, heroic Dad and also see that he adheres to it! You all here are great people! By the way, he is marked for radiation almost right between the breast. I'm not sure exactly what that means, but thats where the big x is on his chest, is that near the lungs? I don't mean to sound stupid, but, i never was a health nut, until now.
