they are going to do the needle bio next week some time but I gotta tell you this liver pain is the worse I have ever had. I didn't realize how important it is to have one working at 100% until I didn't have it anymore. My ONC wants to know what kind of mass I have even though the bio said now cancer cell activity so we will do the other . I am in so much pain I can't sit for a very long time I read your posts but don't stay and answer alot of them sorry but know you are in my prayers and thoughts. Please remember me in the samw way . Thank you.

    Louann, call your surgeon....
** Minor complications after percutaneous liver biopsy include transient, localized discomfort at the biopsy site; pain requiring analgesia; and mild, transient hypotension. Approximately one-fourth of patients has pain in the right upper quadrant or right shoulder after liver biopsy. The pain is usually dull, mild, and brief.

Ongoing, severe pain in the abdomen should alert the physician to the possibility of a more serious complication, such as bleeding or peritonitis (inflammation of the membrane lining the walls of the abdominal and pelvic cavities).

Although very rare, clinically significant intraperitoneal hemorrhage (bleeding within the membrane surrounding the stomach and pelvis) is the most serious bleeding complication of percutaneous liver biopsy; it usually becomes apparent within the first 2 to 3 hours after the procedure. **

    LouAnn -

Listen to Diane, liver problems are nothing to take lightly.

Go to the ER if the pain persists.

from what I have been told is the stint was a temporary one and I am haveing a needle bio done this week and the pain is the same thing that it was before I am still alittle jandice but not as bad they are wanting to find out what kind of mass is there I know something else is going to have to be done but dont know what at this point. the stint is working the GI told Dave he was pleased with the placement and it got bile flowing as soon as it was placed I dont think I have any bleeding because they watched me very close afterward. my ONC knows about the pain infact they sent me home with pain patch and oral pain meds along with 2 kinds of itch meds...but please pray for me and I will update this as soon as I know something else but I am not here long as it hurts to sit ...
