15 year old with cancer

Hi there,
I am new to the site and in South Africa!!! For some reason I cannot get into the chat rooms but would love to speak to Mums.....
My 15 year old daughter was diagnosed 6 weeks ago with cancer and is currently receiving chemo. I am also looking for children in her age group who are either receiving or have received treatment that she can e-mail and chat with.
There doesn't seem to be any kind of support group here in South Africa which is really sad for her!

    I do not have a child with cancer but am fighting cancer myself. I just wanted to offer my prayers and support to you and your daughter. I felt I needed to reach out to you as a mother myself I have 4 daughter's ages 20, 17, 10 and 7. They mean the world to me as I am sure yours does to you.

    I am sorry there is no support in South Africa but keep posting on this site if no one responds quickly don't get discouraged. There willbe those who will share with you when they come across your story.

    God be with you, be strong for her as she needs you more than ever.

    I too, know of a young lady that is battling cancer. She has something called alveolar rhapdomyosarcoma. That is cancer of the soft tissue. I wish you and your daughter peace, hope, joy and health. God Bless you both.

    Hello -

    I was also diagnosed at the age of 15. I'm now 4 1/2 years out, so if your daughter would like to talk to someone on the other side of treatment, please let me know. It's a really tough time to be diagnosed - it seems like everything is geared towards the younger kids or adults, so it's great that you're looking for a support system for her that she can relate to.

    You're both in my thoughts.

    i am not a child but am a mother of 3 and am currently going threw chemo(3rd round). my children are 15,11,and 7. i can relate to all she is goin threw with chemo and would be more then happy to lend her any kind of support she or you may need. my ID on here is richards_ittybitty and my email is richards_ittybitty@yahoo.com. The chatroom is a wonderful place to go if you cant get in keep trying sometimes the room is down and we all have a hard time getting in.

    I'm 19 years old now, but i was diagnosed when i was 12 and dealt with the chemo and other complications until i was 15. I would love to talk to your daughter, that's basically why i joined this website; to try to reach out to people going through what i went through.     Hey to you and the mom. I'm also 14 turning 15 this year. I'm "officially" done with treatment this December. However I'm hoping they will let me go longer as I've missed a lot of pills. I have acute lymphoblastic leukemia in a my spine. Luckily they found it when I was 95% of all my blood cells cancer, well I guess it's not lucky, but it's 5% away from paralysis! Because the cancer I've also had a Kidney failure and a seizure. I'm in Massachusetts so I have the wonderful Baystate hospital. :)

    Hey debbie, im sorry to hear about your daughter. When i was 16 i was diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma. I am now 17 and almost 10 months in remission!! I would actualy really like to chat with your daighter, I haven't really talked to anyone my age going through what i did. and i also find it pretty cool you guys are from south africa lol.

    I am so very sorry about your daughter and will keep her close to my heart. I am waiting to find out if I have cancer in my spine. I would love someone to talk to because just waiting to find out is absolutely terrifying.
