My daughter has been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer Stage 1 C. They removed the football size tumor surgically.
Doctor is suggesting to undergo four rounds of BEP Chemo. Unfortunately my daughter's Pulmonary tests were not positive so Doctor decided to cancel teh Bleomycin and is now continuing with only Etopiside and Cisplatin. SHe will undergo four rounds of only these two drugs. Right now her second dose is going on. Hopefully by November end she will finish her third round.
Has any one out there with similar experience?

    How incredibly unfair
Hello and welcome. I'm sorry, but I do not know anything about the drugs you mentioned. I just want to say how sorry I am that your daughter has to go through this at such an incredibly young age. This disease can be so horribly unfair. However, it is good news that she is at an early stage. Her long-term prognosis should be very good.

I can only imagine what you must be going through right now, to see your child going through this. You certainly have our prayers, good wishes, and lots and lots of long-distance hugs!

SENDING LOTS OF HUGS AND PRAYERS
I cannot imagine what you and your daughter must be going through. I have never heard of this occuring at such a young age. This must be so distressing, so I hope you have a good, reliable, compassionate doctor.

I only have experience with the Cisplatin (Carboplatin) and Taxol (and Taxotere). I was Stage 1C also. I have had one recurrance, but my originaly diagnosis was 9 years ago. I agree with the other ladies - your daughter has youth and overall good health on her side. The best doctor to have would be a gynecologic/oncologist. I wish you the very best to you and your daugther. Please let us know how she is doing. Also, someone posted last week on this forum about different websites/organizations for young people who have cancer. Maybe that will help your daugther cope with all of this. If she enjoys being on the computer, there's probably some forums for young people her age that she'd find comfort in.

    Prayers AND hugs,
    Monika

    Lots of hugs ♥ prayers
Hi Dhuma, I have only met 2 others who had this and at such a young age. One young gal use to come into the chatroom a couple years back. She had been cancer free for about 5 years at the time and was told it rarely comes back. She was dealing with lots of dating issues at the time and not being able to have children. But she seemed like she got through them and was living life to the fullest. Sending lots of prayers Bonnie

    Sorry
Goodness, I am sorry to hear of one so young having to go through this. But they caught it early which is a huge blessing. I am not familiar with the drugs you mentioned. I took Carboplatin and Taxol; 8 doses, and then a year if low dose taxol. But I was Stage IV. ((Hugs and Prayers)) Saundra

    BEP
I am a 32 year old who underwent the BEP treatment for Stage 4 dysgerminoma. I am also a nurse and I am not sure if that helped or made it worse for me but if there is anything I can do - any questions I can answer I would be glad to do so.

I did have the bleo my lung tests were fine in the beginning but now I have lung damage. I think your doctor did the right thing.

I hope things are getting better for you both.

    Hi,
    This is such an unfair

    Hi,

This is such an unfair disease, I myself would like to say I could'nt imagine being 13 and having to deal with cancer in any form.

I am not familiar with this particular form of cancer, but seeing the previous post, it looks as if there is a strong survival opportunity for her.

I will say many prayers for you and your daughter that all continues to go well.

    Love,

    Sharon
