Thank you all for the kind words the other day. This past Wednesday my mom had new stents put on top of her old stents in the esophagus and the trachea. It is this parallel stent that caused her to become terminal.
The median life expectency with someone with parallel stents is 72 days. The longest that someone has lived with it has been 374 days.
I want to be sure that new people here understand that she is not terminal because of her stent. Stents are good for people with EC. Unfortunately hers was not helping because of the size of her tumors.
She is still dealing with effects of EC. She is losing weight and she spends more hours couging than not.
My biggest wish right now is that she get some relief so she can enjoy some time that is left. It just doesn't seem possible for her. She has had problem after problem since her "big" does of chemo.
I'm sorry to vent. I just need to get some of this out. I'm so happy this forum exists. EC is such a mystery to most that I was thrilled to find you all. Thank you.
