GOING FOR CAT SCAN TOMORROW
Keep me in your prayers. I have decided that either way I think they have done all they can do for me so far. Hoping for the best. Since this whole thing started (I posted a summary of my diagnosis and treatment in my profile) if I would have seen the magnitude of what the treatments would ensue I would have been discouraged and afraid. Taking one day at a time and not trying to worry myself crazy has helped. Now that it is near the end of the first phase of treatment I am nervous. Trying real hard not to dwell on what might be, but rather to look at the positive of where I have been. I am at least 95% cancer free if you take into consideration the fact they cut out most of it during surgery, (doc said he felt like he got it all), then radiated it for 6 weeks, and poisoned it for good measure. If there is any cancer left I hope it knows I mean business and won't give up until it is gone.
I find the posts here inspiring. I read every one of them, even though I don't respond to them. Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers. Norma

Hope you do well with your CAT scans and that you both get good news from your CAT scans.
In peace and caring.
Thanks RO and Deanna!! Hope your CAT Scan went well D. Mine went smooth. The barium drink was not that bad. I had the berry flavored stuff. Must have been so hungry that anything would have tasted good. Ate an enormous lunch afterward.
It is amazing how many CAT scans are done at MD Anderson every day. I counted 100 during the 3 hrs I was there. It is an assembly line and runs as efficiently as a German train schedule.
Whatever the outcome I feel confident they will do something to keep me alive. I think that is why I love the place. I meet so many people who come there after being treated other places and they are given hope. People from all over the country and many foreign countries. Just amazing.
Thanks for the encouragement....it means a lot.0 -

Glad your scan went smooth! Berry flavored stuff sounds okay, where I go they use a flavorless contrast that is mixed in water. There is no taste to it really and I was thirsty enough that I drank it right down. They used to mix it with Crystal Light lemonade, and it was yucky! I think the worst part of the scan is waiting for the results. I am going to adopt your attitude and say whatever the outcome, they will cure me!0 -
Deanna and Norma
Ladies, Aren't we all glad that the scans are completed? I had my first post treatment scan about two months ago and can totally relate to the anxiety of waiting for report.
Our lives have been so changed by this uterine cancer. No one truly understands just how much except for the many "sisters" on this discussion board. Anyway I digress...just wanted you to know that I am praying and thinking of you both! Congratulations on just getting through it all.

Lori, I am glad the scan is complete. Thanks for the sweet message. May we all DANCE WITH NED. In New Orleans, where I was born and raised. There is a lovely tradition where we dance in a single line with the leader carrying an umbrella decorated with Mardi Gras things like beads and such. It is called a "Second Line". I hope we all dance with NED in a second line that leads us away from fear and into a place where we have peace.0 -

I have a saying. It is what it is. Maybe not gramatically correct but it captures the spirit of accepting whatever happens, the good, the bad, the ugly. I keep reminding myself that I have today... and that is all I really have. It gives me peace.0
