Does it ever get better?
I just wanted to vent to u guys because u seem to offer the best comfort and advice. After the cancer came a multitude of other problems.....Degenerative joint disease and a disc protrusion in my back.
So I had an appointment for a papsmear and I am thinking well this appointment sould be fine at least I can have one appointment I won't get bad news from (as I have been with the back doctor). Then the doctor tells me (following the manual portion of the exam) we need to do a biopsy on your uterus TODAY. I was ready to just throw myself on the floor....LOL.....not another medical problem!!!!!!!!!
I know this was off the subject of the cancer but I am ready to get off the roller coaster now, as I am sure many if not all of you are.
Thanks for letting me vent

So sorry,
Hi Adrian,
I almost had the same thing happen to me in 2008. The doc told me on March 5TH I had tt cancer. Had a routine Mamogram on the 6th, they kept me for hours doing the momaogram, 3 ultrasounds. They finally decided it wasn't anything but to come back in 6 months. Now I do a mamogram every 6 months. I go today for another mamogram. It does fill like once you get the Big C everything starts falling apart. Good luck! I hope you get good news.Everyone needs to vent....and you've been thru a lot.

Thank you for
Hey Lisa
Thank you for responding to my post. I needed to hear from others that I am not alone, not just in the struggle of having thyroid cancer but having other things happen on top of that. I sometimes think what have I done that was that bad in my life to have all these things happen to me? Then I think that I have been put in this whirwind for a reason and that I have to learn from it! It just all becomes so overwhelming sometimes.
Thanks again

I had the same type of thing happen
While going through the workup for Thyroid cancer (during the early stages of ulterasound and biopsy) I had a bad episode of TMJ. My jaw totally locked upen when I woke up and had to force it shut. I started to see an oral surgeon who told me that I had broken my jaw in an accident as a child and nobody knew it.....now I was suffering from arthritis of the jaw as well as muscular TMJ. Later I asked if Thyroid nodules and the TMJ were related and they told me no. It was 2 1/2 weeks before i could chew and eat regular food again....I have to wear a night guard at night....but it came up at around the same time as they Thyroid. Cooincidence???? Also when my PCP found the slight swelling in my neck I was in to see him for a sinus infection......0 -
You are not alone...
I am diagnosed with thyroid cancer back in Nov 2008. The cancer was found through a routine body check up. i was complaining to my doctor about the lump on my neck. She was shocked because it was quite big( size of an egg). she ordered a CAT scan, ultrasound and a FNA on the tumor. the result came back positive for cancer. And, this is where my journey begins. Within 2 weeks, i had my TT, and 96 lymph nodes removed. I visited my endo every 2 months, and have my synthroid change 7 times in a year, ultrasound every 2 months....
Meanwhile some calcifications show up from my mammogram, and was ordered breast FNA. it hurt so bad, feels like somebody drilling my breast. the result turn up to be benign. but i needed a mammogram every year to make sure.
A recent Pet/Ct scan shows some abnormal in the uterus. i visited my OBGYN and had several tests and ultrasounds and ervything turns out to be normal. Maybe the doctor just show me extra care because i am a cancer patient...By the way, i am 26 years old0 -

Phyllis900,
Thank u 4 responding to my post. I just feel so alone sometimes and posting on here usually gets me positive feedback, which I need.
I also had a mammogram recently that was all clear (thank GOD).
A biopsy on my uterus was all clear but I have a fibroid that is taking up half of my uterus, don't yet know what she is going to want to do with that?!
I have been taking alot of meds for the pain I have in my back and it has caused me to gain 28 pounds in 2 months ;(
All of this is just driving me crazy!0 -

I know exactly
weberdns,
I know exactly what you mean. Once I found out I have cancer it seems like one thing after another. First the cancer, then my back, now my uterus...............goodness!!!!
They also tell me it has nothing to do with the cancer, which I believe but the series of events have all come since then!!!
I will work it out hopefully.
Thank u for responding.
