G'day Mags,
Definitely no snow here just another 85 deg day. Things may liven up on the weekend. Two cat 5 cyclones hatched in the coral sea one just near Fiji and one south of the solomon Islands. Unfortunately the Fiji one beat the crap out of said country and has wandered off towards New Zealand. The one south of the Solomons is expected to hit the central Queensland coast sometime Sunday morning . They are not sure where as they are unpredictable. We had around 14 inches of rain last fornight and have floods everywhere. The last thing we need is for a cyclone to come ashore and turn into a rain depression. Signing off from the Ron50 bureau of meteorology0 -

Mags,
I'm glad to see YOU out again! I haven't seen you around lately and I've been worried. Good to find you in such great spirits.

Outwit. Outplay. Outlast.
Sooo good to see you! I have to agree, the weather has been so wonderful outside, that I also have been getting out, and not feeling like the hermit I was last month. I was just disconnected from chemo last week, and usually I am so wiped I can't move well for a few days, or am in such a chemo fog, that I just lay around till I bounce back, but I felt fine after just a couple days, and found myself driving my kids to stores, their activities, all that, I actually felt, dare I say...."normal" for a change. It must be the weather as well, it has brightened me up abit! I hope I keep feeling like this next week when I have to go to chemo again! lol..I like the pic Mags, really cute
Hugsss!

hello Kimby and Donna....good to see both of you. oh poor you Donna....those great couple of days when you feel almost....shhhhhh good? normal? then right back at it
you are right though sweetie....I am sure the weather helps and makes you want to do something other than pull the sheets up over the head....
still warmish here but snow in the forecast. Had to accompany my hubby to hospital this morning for his pre-ops before his first colonoscopy...lol the poor guy...he is more nervous than normally he should be...I am sure because of the fine( NOT) example I have set over the past years. He has no symptoms but he was a bit shakey for sure....will be glad when it's done....one in this family is enough thanks

I hope everything turns out ok for your hubby! At least he's going, I been pushing my hubby to go, and he won't! said he'd do it while he was laid off, and here it is spring, and his job will be calling him back soon in a couple weeks, and he has not gotten one. His grandfather died of cc a couple years ago (he was in his 80's) and his aunt just got from having surgery last year from stage 2 cc...I wanted him to go, (my family has NO history of cc, I'm the first it seems), but he's being hard-headed, and I just want him to be the healthy one for the kids. I know he's scared.
It's supposed to be 70 this weekend in my part, and we're going to his aunts, with a bunch of his relatives to play games and such, getting the cousins together as well, so should be fun, but glad to hear your hubby doesn't have symptoms either, though I sure didn't have any when I was diagnosed either. It snuck up on me! Good luck to him
Hugsss!

Mine is finally going for his first colonoscopy tomorrow. He turned 50 last May and the doctor, myself, and the insurance company have been hounding him since before his birthday. Back then none of us knew that I was the one that really needed a scope.
He's been complaining and said he was going to cancel. But I have been VERY firm about this. He asked who put me in charge, and I said, "I did - because I have colon cancer, I am in charge of colons around here! I'm not going to let any of my family go through what I am going through, when a colonoscopy is a breeze compared to this." I got angry about it, and he knew not to mess with me. So he has complained through 2 low fiber days, and a lot more today on clear liquid day. But he IS getting his scope tomorrow. And then he gets a 10-year reprieve if they don't find anything. No history of colon cancer in his family. His father just had his last colonoscopy (he'll be in his 80's before due again, so they said they won't see him again). He had one tiny polyp removed. Five years ago he had one tiny one removed. Before that he was always clear. So I am expecting my husband to be clear tomorrow.
Worrying about my family going through this is too much stress for me. I was so happy when my siblings both went and got theirs done (younger than me). My sister really didn't want to go - but she did it as a gift for me. Tell your husband that he owes you that gift! If he won't do it for himself, he needs to do it for you and your children.0 -
No face mask
Monday was the first time I have been able to go outside without wearing my balaclava. Fresh air!!!! I have had to wear it again since then, but just getting one day was heaven. We were even warmer on Sunday, but I didn't know it. Chemo weekend, and I was in rough shape.
I cannot wait till the warm weather is here to stay and I can get back to walking and fresh air again. With the oxaliplatin neuropathy this has been one long, miserable winter...0 -

RE...Miss balaclava ....heheeh...I so relate to that...last winter on oxy if I was outside I was inside my balaclava.....this year I looked at it and deliberately didn't wear it once. Just like one summer it was a gazillion degrees and I was on 5 Fu and wore and ice pack on my head....now if I look at it I feel nauseous....good luck Kath
and **** and Kath I was thinking about you yesterday and wondering how you are doing...so good to see you...poor things Boston must be cold for you guys
